Very pleased to pick up three points and keep our first clean sheet in what feels like forever.
Felt we should have scored at least one more goal for our pressure, it was a stressful last 10 minutes while we held on.

A throughly enjoyable away day as per usual at Arbroath. I know it is a tough ask for Arbroath to stay up now, but good luck for the rest of the season, would be a real shame to lose you from the league.

Moving McBeth to central defence has been a great move by Doolan. He was terrific today as was Aero

Was impressed with him big step up looks a solid player

Agreed. A very good find from the lower reaches of the 6th tier.

To echo what others have said, trips to Arbroath next season (and possibly beyond) will be missed. But these things are cyclical; Arbroath have been the best part time team in Scottish football for close to a decade - including owning us for a good few years - but that was always going to end at some point. Not convinced McIntyre is the guy to get you back up, but I’d guess he’ll be given the summer window to put his own team together regardless.

A decent if unspectacular performance from us today. Definitely could have played better, but we were never really in danger and it was nice to finally keep a clean sheet.

Aye, McBeth was surprisingly good for someone who's recently made such a big jump up. Must be strange for him going from the West of Scotland league to the world's greatest club. That's Disney stuff.

Apart from today and last weekend, when if at all have the surnames of the Thistle goalkeeper and the entire back line all begun with the same letter (Mitchell, McMillan, Muirhead, McBeth, Milne)?

What’s the highest number of Thistle players with the same first letter of surname to have been on the park at the same time?

And what was the narrowest alphabetical spread of any Thistle starting XI (eg today’s was F(itzpatrick) to R(obinson) but had an astonishing 8 players across consecutive letters LMN)?

The 5 M's is a strange co-incidence. In all of history, based on a 1-5 query, it was only seen for the first time on 4 March 2023, the 3-0 home win vs. Raith Rovers:
David Mitchell, Jack McMillan, Harry Milne, Connor McAvoy, Aaron Muirhead

Most common surname letter in a starting eleven is 7 (M's again), seen only in 1988, 3 times in close proximity, firstly in the 1-1 midweek Scottish Cup draw at Station Park on 3 February 1988:

Archie MacLean, Alan Dinnie, John Workman, Bryan Purdie, Budgie McGhie, John McCormack, Pat Kelly, Willie McGuire, John McNaught, John Mitchell, Ian McDonald

Re the close proximity thing, will skip that on the grounds of time constraints, thank you please!
