Greatest Hits - Under Three Guises

Recommended Posts

Was discussing the new Paul Weller album ‘66’ with someone, and commented that Weller has been involved in ‘greatest hits’ albums under three guises - The Jam, The Style Council, and solo. Paul McCartney is another - The Beatles, Wings, solo artist. Struggling to think of any others, without Googling. George Harrison? No idea if the Travelling Wilburys had a ‘greatest hits’ type album out or not. Can think of a ton of ‘2’s though. Missing anyone obvious?

Dave Grohl has Foo Fighters, Nirvana and Scream (although I don't think Scream ever released a Greatest Hits album per se) plus all his one off album projects like Late!, Them Crooked Vultures and Probot.

I had absolutely no idea Midge Ure had been in Thin Lizzy. Learn something every day right enough.

He wasn't in for very long. He replaced Gary Moore who left during a US tour. He played on a song that was on one of their greatest hits albums though.
