Spfl trust trophy

Recommended Posts

It's an absolute red neck that they're talking about sporting integrity, merit and financial fair play and then listing two youth teams who finished 2nd and 6th in their league and are only there because they paid a big enough bribe to the rest of the league.

Regardless of whose complaining, still doesn’t take away the fact that it is a farcical decision by the SPFL.

The SPFL set out on this course when they invited non Scots and B teams in. Lowland League clubs can't complain about that, because they sold their soul to them.

Reap what you sow.

Unless it's written into the rules of the competition, the organisers can invite whoever they want.

Frankly, binning the b teams is much more important than whatever non league side is invited into a league competition.

What an absolute gang the spfl are.......ran by donkey Doncaster and the infirm.

Won't be attending anything to do with said competition, they can ram it.

I see Linlithgow and Tranent have weighed in now,2 good guys .

I can get where linlithgow and Tranent are coming from, but would they have complained if it had been Welsh and Irish teams again?

Given the teams that have been invited, I'd be stunned if the extra money that's being trumpeted turns them into contenders.

Again, if they binned the B teams and didn't use those invites to invite the top half HL and LL teams, that would be a disgrace.

In the same statement, they say that Hearts B finished 2nd and that B teams are removed from league placings.

If there are places up for grabs, they should be earned on merit.

But for these clubs to complain about "guest" teams being invited into a competition arbitrarily, without earning their spot, is fairly hilarious.

Even when the Welsh and Irish teams were invited they were usually decided on some sporting criteria rather than picked. Even if it was the old Intertoto Cup idea of the highest placed team that wanted it, got it.

I think Albion get in for another season as a recently relegated L2 team.

That reduces the complaint.

I can understand the issues with Cumbernauld Colts and Civil Service Strollers going on about integrity, but Tranent and Linlithgow have never voted in favour of B teams in the Lowland League, so their complaints are entirely valid in that respect.

The Lowland teams can f**k off from this along with their B team pals too.

If these clubs don't respect the integrity of their own league, why should anyone else?

"These clubs."

As if it's not bad enough for fans of clubs like Linlithgow Rose and Tranent that we have to share a league with B teams and the toadying gutless pr*cks that took the bribes and voted them in, we have to put up with fans of other clubs lumping us in with them like we have anything to do with them at all.

Calling them our "pals" is heinous patter.

When did regarding all the clubs in a league the same become a thing? Because if that's how it is now, it cuts both ways. You want to be associated with every decision made by the SPFL?

Ehm, have you read the thread? You've got yer Regionals on this very page calling the entire SPFL a "gang" when none of the clubs have even voted for this. Lowland League clubs have continually voted them into their league despite telling us all it would be a one season thing. Until that changes the league can suck my plums.
