  1. Whatever side McCall puts out this week should obviously have Hamilton at CH and whatever RB is fit (other than Lyon who despite some saying he is ok, he’s not he’s a liability over 90 mins) then they should start. I would also have Scullion nowhere near wide Left position, does not have the ability to play there effectively. What we badly miss and have done for many years is a central midfield player who bombs forward and commits defenders. In fact not since Bryson which is ridiculous. To many similar none effective clones play centrally nowadays. Murdoch is very good and should be the sitting controlling central midfield player. Could Scullion play that central role next to him rather than Grant who is forever tidy and nothing more. Scullion certainly has the fitness and pace to at least try that? Allan has to start as there is little option but might not be a bad thing as I think h needs a run, but I’d like to see someone playing closer to him, not Rennie though. Hopefully Redfern starts too.
  2. Never saw much in Young and his performance mid week against Forfar last season was awful, along with most others in a Clyde strip tbf that night, but generally he was lacking in any composer and simply not good enough. However, what it might show is that playing your CF consistently will probably result in a couple of goals. McCall has to stop chopping and changing his CF every single week. For me, despite his form I’d start Allan every week for next 3-4 games no matter what, he needs to play back into some kind of form and there only one way to do that.
  3. Its the discussion I have with my Rangers / Celtic friends all the time who insist the Referee is against them.. oh the irony! I argue that it’s the standard of both referee and Assistant (it’s a linesman, I hate that term) that is at an all time low. We see it every week and it is truly awful. The guys running the line are just as culpable, not only do they get things wrong, they no longer “help” the ref with decisions. It was common years ago for refs to consult the lineman then change a decision either way.. NEVER happens now. Obviously with VAR in premier league it’s different but in our Diddy league it should happen. Some of the decisions I’ve seen at our games have been mind boggling. However, please note I’m not deflecting from my team’s and our Management’s performances, they have been hugely disappointing and that has to change very quickly.
  4. Please can we just put the B teams in a big lead box, sealed and put at the bottom of the deepest sea we can find. It just won’t go away and the usual suspects just try a different argument to get their way. Our clubs have to be strong and continue to stand against this, certainly doesn’t help when it’s folk like Clement and his resultant hoard start spouting this rubbish, coupled with the Lowland League sell out and whoever decided to shoehorn B teams into the diddy cup which has once again provided oxygen for this arrogant wish for the “Big teams”ultimately to have teams in every league in Scotland. We can’t let this happen
  5. I wouldn’t be so sure EK would win playoff against any L2 sides, don’t think Kennedy had the tactical ability to navigate 2 leg play off.
  6. That’s good idea.. hopefully we can use rolling subs and rotate the forward players till McCall sees some semblance of an attack partnership or at least a combination that looks remotely dangerous.
  7. The issue of creativity in midfield has been a problem for years now, this year with all the midfield options we have it’s still an issue.. maybe I’m going to be controversial here; but I’d love to see Murdoch as our holding midfield player and have another beside him either bombing on or capable of taking players on and creating space. That would mean that it’s Ray Grant who drops out. Obviously that could only happen if we found such a player from somewhere. As I say controversial as Grant is a good and popular player but to my mind we move the ball too slowly and from far a too deep possession. Im also not blaming Ray Grant for our lack of goals, just making an observation and comment on our midfield. On the Lee Hamilton debate, he may well have played full back previously but he is far and away our best CH, I’d go as far as to say he is our best player (Murdoch possibly becoming that) not having him at CH both in terms of ability but marshalling the back 4 is a ludicrous decision.
  8. First of all before I rant int McCall and the players for that awful performance… well done to Stirling for playing us like fiddles today. After they got their goal they simply let us have the ball for most of the game, they seemed to realise that we were never going to break them down. Starting lineup typical McCall over thinking and shoehorning players in. Starting Hamilton at RB is absolutely baffling. Best CH we’ve had in years and stuck out of position, then compounds it by taking him off at halftime and leaving Howie on. Even worse when you consider Hynes was in the squad, an actual effing RB! Scullion being asked to be a winger and taking his fullback on, utter nonsense again a winger on the bench. Rennie, back constantly to his initial no contributing garbage. How he stayed on the park for 90+ mins is just unbelievable. Jordan Allan is a shadow of the player we first watched. Whether some might say he’s isolated is deflecting from the fact he has been poor, really poor. Unfortunately Logan D looked like a CH playing up front when he came on. Hugely disappointing start to the league campaign, played against teams tipped to struggle and we have been a mile off. Something definitely not right. Not even played the so called better sides yet! On this evidence, despite McCall getting a small fortune in his back pocket and spent a relative fortune and it’s not working. Far too early to panic but McCall has come out and explain his selections and substations, particularly after today.
  9. I would hope that if the unthinkable happens and Kinnear does pick up an injury we might just get an emergency loan? Didn’t see Kennedy last night right enough as my B team boycott continues. Hopefully not something we don’t need to cope with.
  10. Absolutely no way I’d have Kinnear, Hamilton, Grant, Scullion or Robson anywhere near this game if I could avoid it. We have the squad to “rest” them so give others game time. That includes Allan who needs to play his way back and hopefully scoring goals on the back of it.
  11. Completely agree, they had a fair bit of the ball and created some chances but nothing that really had me worried, what did was the fact we were so flat in the first half. Kinnear made good saves but again saves that a decent keeper should make. I agree with others that Foster looked good player and I was happy he came off but again don’t think Hamilton was getting anything like a runaround, yes had to work hard to contain him like the good defender he.
