Armadale Thistle Twitter :-

Tuesday 16 July

BU v Thistle.

730 at Newtown Park.

For all the good things BU do with social media , it is poor that supporters find information relating to the club on websites of others .

The same happened last season .

The social media work has improved a lot in the last year or so but agreed there is still a bit more they could do to keep everyone up to date. The seasons just finished so maybe the team are off on their holidays.

Anyone heard any signing rumours so far? I know they don’t announce anything until it’s official but always annoying seeing your league rivals announcing players.

Aidan, there's very few rumours doing the rounds but don't worry I hear the management team has identified a few new players and they are working to get them signed.

Many clubs have to rebuild almost their entire team over the summer but Big Hunter has already signed most of the squad from last season.  It's evidence that the players want to play for the manager and there is a good team spirit at the club.

Just to recap, I believe 13 of last years team have resigned plus Rutherford and Hamilton who will know doubt want to prove their fitness and would certainly strengthen the squad. So we would only require 3/4 more players to give us more depth overall.

Goalkeeper and big strong centre forward a priority .

The fixtures so far are all Saturdays and Tuesdays.  Only the Darvel game is AWAY:-

6th July at 130 Clydebank (4th in WoS Premier)

9th July at 745 Tynecastle (10th in EoS Premier)

13th July at 130 Pollok  (5th in WoS Premier)

16th July at 730 Armadale Thistle (4th in EoS League 2)

20th July at 2pm AWAY to Darvel (3rd in WoS Premier).

Lowland League starts 27 July.

Getting my excuse in early !! Clydebank are playing friendlies on Saturday 29 June and Tuesday 2 July so expect them to look sharper than us in the opener !!

Can anyone remember details of an incident at a Scottish Cup tie in Ayrshire, Cumnock maybe or Talbot, in the 80s? The Bo’ness young team were faced off by a solitary home fan, woman, no front teeth, scary as fk. None of the young team were brave enough to get close. Took two polis to take her away. It was reported in the Sunday Mail

Remember the match at Cumnock in the 75-76 cup winning season where the atmosphere was a wee bit hostile. A lot of the locals wearing pit helmets in the club colours.

The BU's started their preseason training yesterday according to their Facebook page.  Teasing us that announcements regarding new signings are coming.

Less than 3 weeks until our first friendly.  Cannot wait.......its been too long.
