Having no luck finding it now but apparently Labour in Hartlepool pay their campaign staff and are sacking them all tomorrow haha

Surely, after today, win or lose, there's no campaign to staff? I thought you were quite bright, Mixu.

I think they ordinarily keep a bunch of people on retainer to bus around to campaign in various elections but because of the lack of money coming in this year they have told them all they're getting the sack the day after which I'm sure has had an effect on the zeal with which they do the job. I woulda thought it was better to have a strong local team of volunteers mind you.

Yeah, you would think so, and I've been a member of several teams in both my own and neighbouring constituencies over the years. If the way our CLP and our elected officers have been treated is any indicator, mind, that won't be a given either. How the f**k do you get people, especially young people, to get on the doorstop and enthuse about Starmer's vision?

..and that's probably the only time you'll see the words "Starmer" and "vision" in the same sentence. I've given him a year, and he's entirely, fully, absolutely useless. While Johnson's poor decision making rfesulted in massive death tolls and a screwed economy, Starmer has managed to piss away hundreds of thousands of members while putting the Party in a position where, if a GE were held tomorrow, we'd probably lose another couple of dozen seats at a minimum. He stands for fúck all, and by failing to actually oppose the Tories he's killed any chance of a future my kids and grandkids might have had - as well as rendering any chance of Labour (i.e. a Party for the workers) ever has of regaining relevance. Not power, just relevance. I'm realistic enough to see that I'm going to die under a continuation of these cúnts - the Cabinet will probably be half-full of Rees-fucking-Moggs by the time I go.

That's the contradiction for Labour. They can only grow the vote - as Corbyn did before Brexit took over - by having the left as the public face of the party. But that's completely unacceptable to the individuals and organisations that fund Starmer, Reeves, Rayner etc. So they are stuck doing phony politics that no one is interested in.

The Labour Right also seem to have accepted that legitimate politics need Establishment/Tory approval so even a former DPP, Knight of The Realm and  Trilateral Commission member somehow allows himself to be disciplined by no mark journalists and fringe Tories rather than going on the offensive.

I watched an interview with Starmer earlier this week and I was struck by his demeanor and obvious lack of self-belief.  If the leader of the Labour Party can't convince himself then what signal does that send to voters ?

I’ve just clocked the Perthshire south Labour candidate has little online presence.

In SNP-Tory marginals Labour run paper candidates. One might suspect they want their voters to vote Tory.

At the risk of oversimplification, who are Labour going to take votes from?

I think their aim in this election campaign has been "vote for us if you oppose independence and you're not a khunt."

Which is fair enough.

If you oppose Independence you are a khunt by definition.

I may be wrong, but isn't Scotland the only Nation ever to be offered its independence and said, "Nah, ye're alright"? Note - offered the choice of independence, no need for the massive damage an armed rebellion would have caused, like many other countries have undergone for the prize of self-determination.

Renton was right - in fact he was maybe a bit too diplomatic.

They’re right though.  Starmer must move Labour further to the right; maybe even past the Tories.

Then the Tories can retaliate by moving even further right, the Labour...

I still can't believe the change in Angela Rayner. I actually had her down as a potential deputy to RLB.Seems the position is more important to her than any socialist vision ever was. A massive disappointment, and even as a wizened old cynic, I feel betrayed. She could have been part of something wonderful, and sold her soul for five minutes carrying that cűnt's bag.

Sienna Rodgers reporting that Labour sources are telling her they've had an "atrocious" day in Sunderland.

Remember that these c***s deliberately undermined the 2017 and 2019 election campaigns. Get it right fucking up them.
