Hearts vs Rangers (Full Metal Warfare)

Recommended Posts

First game of the season

Rangers struggling to sign the players they want

Hearts still needing a few players in (or to stay uninjured for once)

Should be an intresting game on paper but realisticly it will be a rangers win by 2 or 3 goals...

I'd feel better about this if our first choice midfield was available. As it stands we are looking at Grant and Devlin which is a bit limited in a game like this. If Boateng signs he could come in but no idea of his fitness levels.

Quietly confident we can get something here though, for all the chat about Rangers struggling it'll still be a good team they put out, but I'm pretty happy with how our team is looking and it should be a good atmosphere.

2-1 Hearts. Shankland and Vargas.

Pessimism. That's all I feel at the moment. Squad is a long way off where it needs to be and it's been a bit of a shambles of a pre-season.

Going into this with Souttar and Davies as our first choice CB pairing is far from ideal, with both having very similar weaknesses where they seem to lose the flight of the ball from crosses/balls over the top very easily.

Midfield is potentially a bit more settled with Barron, Diomande and Lawrence showing glimpses of being an effective combination last week against Union Berlin, but we look desperately weak in the full back areas with Tav and Jefte (who hasn't covered himself in glory in these friendlies).

Cerny not ready to start yet while Propper is but his inclusion will depend if we get international clearance in time.

Sterling and Raskin unavailable through injury and Cantwell out of the picture leaves us a tad light for depth in midfield.

Gordon

Oyegoke Kent Rowles Kingsley

Taylor Devlin Penrice

Dhanda Spittal

Shanks

Seven guys there to defend. Three guys to attack.

The back seven can keep a clean sheet and that leaves the front three free to have some fun and try to get a goal and they can all score.
