HuttonDressedAsLahm Posted Tuesday at 10:29 Share Posted Tuesday at 10:29 (edited) Liam Lindsay; Nicky Devlin; Andy Irving This seems like a SC squad pick from 2019 again It would be hilarious, if it wasn’t so abject, just how our right-back options have changed in 12 months… Edited Tuesday at 10:30 by HuttonDressedAsLahm
Londonwell Posted Tuesday at 10:33 Share Posted Tuesday at 10:33 Obviously thin at cb and rb with injuries but the rest looks fine to me. Pleased to see Irving in there. Lennon Miller must be close but with the U21s big games coming up it’ll be no surprise to see him stay with that group for now.
Ludo*1 Posted Tuesday at 10:47 Share Posted Tuesday at 10:47 Good to see Clark dropped, McCracken get rewarded since he's playing games (although he's been ever increasingly shaky for us) and Gordon restored.
oneteaminglasgow Posted Tuesday at 10:49 Share Posted Tuesday at 10:49 Give Liam Lindsay the captaincy, in my completely unbiased opinion.

MarkoRaj Posted Tuesday at 11:08 Share Posted Tuesday at 11:08 With McGinn out we should see one of Gauld or Doak in from the start at least

No idea what he's like these days but in the short time he was with us LL really did look destined to be a star. Also, Craig Gordon being back after his farewell is... interesting.
accies1874 Posted Tuesday at 11:16 Share Posted Tuesday at 11:16 I believe that this is the first time that John McGinn hasn't been named in a Scotland squad since June 2017 (v England), though Strachan initially named a provisional squad of 29 which he was in.
Alert Mongoose Posted Tuesday at 11:23 Share Posted Tuesday at 11:23 I actually think Devlin is a good shout. For me he is a better all round right back than the likes of Ralston abd probably even Paterson.

Probably much of a muchness though. Patterson has a much higher ceiling so when he's fit he's in
KnightswoodBear Posted Tuesday at 11:47 Share Posted Tuesday at 11:47 No Lennon Miller or Connor Barron seems odd.
accies1874 Posted Tuesday at 11:48 Share Posted Tuesday at 11:48 (edited) I'm surprised that Armstrong hasn't been recalled, and I'd have called up Fraser but that name tends to throw up "fun" discussions. I'm not sure that Forrest and Morgan are better wide options than those two. I'm pretty certain that Miller and/or Barron would've been in were it not for the important u21 games, as Andy Irving is a v surprising call. Maybe to give the u-21s the best chance of qualifying. Which would make sense if it wasn't for Gemmil still managing them.

Scary Bear Posted Tuesday at 12:41 Share Posted Tuesday at 12:41 Has Lawrence Shankland been playing well enough to make the squad?
Ludo*1 Posted Tuesday at 12:45 Share Posted Tuesday at 12:45 I'd have called up Barron, McCowan or Miller ahead of Irving tbh. But happy to be proven that he's a quality player.

Previously, I was on the side of Clarke not having an issue with Fraser - but it is blatantly clear that he does at this point.
Salvo Montalbano Posted Tuesday at 13:06 Share Posted Tuesday at 13:06 Wee bit surprised (although not really) that Nisbet isn't there given he's made a good start at Aberdeen, has been in the squad before and he may well go on to become a regular squad man in the future if he can get his head back in the game. Not sure why Forrest has kept his place but but not going to go mental over such small matters.
