The US (specifically the Democratic Party) facilitating an act of terrorism, but yet for months public discourse and social media has been inundated with supporters of the democrats telling everyone how much worse the republicans would be and that Biden is simply “powerless” to do anything to hold Israel to account.

So much for the US administration's claims that they're doing everything they can to prevent a widening of the conflict then.

Not to be cynical, but nothing in that story suggests the U.S. administration had any idea what Israel was doing or planning. The biggest data point has been that Israel advised the U.S. just prior to the attack that something was about to happen, but not what. The U.S. seemingly advised against any attack as compromising an peace efforts, but (surprise, surprise) Israel went ahead anyway.

It all stops the day that the US refuses to send the money and ams to Israel. I think the pair of them are on the road to h*ll.  Last time Israel went into Lebanon they got their arse spanked. The last time the US went into Lebanon, the US Marines base got blown up. Ditto the French base. The Americans and the other 'peace' missions abruptly pulled out.

That’s a political question, not a human rights one. The Israel Lobby is still powerful, although not as powerful as before. If the mainstream Jewish groups forgo Israel, things will change…but will that ever happen. The holocaust still (and rightly) holds the publics imagination when dealing with Israel, so how much similar evil will the hard Right in Israel have to do to destroy that aura.
