Div
P&B is delighted to announce the launch of a new partner program with revolutionary high speed internet provider "OnSpeed". This service uses advanced technology to deliver near broadband speeds on a standard dial-up line with monthly costs of just £1.99 a month To find out more simply click on the link below - any purchases made for the service (which has a money back guarantee) will benefit P&B and of course all monies raised will get ploughed right back into the site for prizes and other new features. I know two dial-up users who have signed up and have been amazed by the improvement in performance they received. ** click here to find out more **
RiG
I am seriously tempted by that, connection speed at home is as fast as Bobby Mann. That said, I am only in Sneck about 4 months of the year. Certainly could be worth a dabble though.

joozy
What a dilemma. I could really do with a faster connection but can't bare the thought of giving Pieman £5.
ALL HÚNS 'n' TIMS ARE SCUM
Hmmmm............. sounds like compression on the fly to me. Compressing pages on the fly is an old idea, it's how the AOL works. OnSpeed will probably work better because it has better compression, however AOL has the advantage with millions of users, which means they can serve up lots of cached pages. This service will not make your MP3s or MPEGs download quicker - No increase in Music or Porn speeds, whats the point
KiwiDB
Question, I use AOL, I know it's not compatible with the AOL browser but will it work with my normal explorer!

Of course compression is used - surely worth a try for tight dial-up users
Div
Fu<k it. I'm gonna get it.*trend setter* Excellent stuff. All we need is one user to be brave - if the service rocks then you can be our man to tell the rest of the P&B slow-mos !

Div
So is that 1.99 ontop of your existing internet charges? Yes indeed.
RiG
Yeah I've got it. It's pretty good The main gain is faster loading of web pages but you wont actually experience any increase in say downlaod speeds? Still, for £1.99 that is a decent offer. I am sick of waiting for an hour while P & B loads on the computer at home!
RiG
Is it really worth the money then Raving On? Seems a good deal. The pages just load faster but you cannae download music/files/porn any quicker?
Akritoi
Don't see the attraction of getting it really if its only web pages that download faster. The whole appeal of Broadband was that Music and Mpeg files would download quicker rather than having to wait for God knows how long.
RiG
Yeah but at £1.99 a month it's pretty good in that sites load up quicker and you can skim through P & B at a faster rate at work? Especially if you aren't that fussed about downloading music and movies it seems a decent deal.
