Petty Things That Get On Your Nerves...

Recommended Posts

Aye, I remember last time I got Adam to deal with anything like that. It was Virgin Media and I'd had no joy whatsoever dealing with them because they are morons. I decided that as Adam worked at the same place as their base, he should call them. He got hung up on within 5 minutes because he told the guy he was a "fucking idiot".

Good on him.

I remember when i was switching from AOL to Sky Broadband. I had cancelled my AOL but before i could get Sky Broadband they said i needed a MAC code which i should have received when i cancelled AOL.

5 times over the course of a month i phoned AOL who wouldn't give me the MAC code, saying the contract had already been cancelled and they didn't have that information in their database anymore. Eventually it got sorted, but basically AOL were waiting on me going "You know what, i think i'll just come back to AOL"

b*****ds.

Do a Google search for OCD Direct and see what comes up. You can normally get enough on the results page to ascertain what it is without actually having to click on the links.

Thanks.

it was actually Direct OCR (not a clue why i put the other thing, must have misread it) and nothing's come up saying what it is <_<

I hate all call centres like that, particularly the ones that are brilliant when selling you something but once you have their business, they're not interested in anything. Mostly, I have ways and means of getting exactly what I want from them. Killing them with kindness and tying them in knots is normally the way it's done, however, you do get some right little Jobsworth's at times that seem to sleep with their script book under their pillow, just to keep them company - it's a fair bet that there's no person willing to do that for them. I'm not averse to the "Right, I'd like to speak to your manager, please", line. It's not once failed yet because managers then tend to fall over themselves to help you. I've had quite a lot of money knocked off my bill from Virgin Media by doing that.

Your quest continues, eh?

Guitarists' fingers are truly minging things. Uh, blisters and callouses all over the shop.

That said, it does carry certain advantages... ;)

She phoned me, I'll have you know :P

I'll agree with that, i end up with sore fingers after playing bass for a while.... which i haven't done in ages.

Reading the interview with Michael Jackson's weans nanny. I just don't believe that a child of 7 would have said the bit in bold

"Now the youngest has been saying, 'Why Daddy? God should have taken me not him."

Maybe i'm wrong.

Only the second day in to the school holidays and already there is screaming/moaning/greeting kids all over the place. <_<

Why do parents insist on taking their kids on a baking hot day to the bank/post office/Asda. I would probably start greetin' as well.

7 weeks of this

It is usually, but once every so many years, we get 7. ;) I think in Edinburgh, they get 7 weeks every year, but only 1 week in October? I'm not finished until Friday...

My petty nag? Swollen feet and ankles. :(
