Although switching to the diamond worked at first, when opponents sussed Swansea out eventually, Monk couldn't come up with a Plan B, and couldn't even go back to the previous Plan A. After Bony left, Gomis picked up some of the slack for the first season, but clearly the training methods at the club couldn't keep Gomis in shape during his second season. Now Gomis looks much fitter after leaving Swansea. And Eder seems to have started recovering his old form after leaving as well. So many players had slumps in form after their much anticipated arrivals. Sorry Gary, you ought to realise that nobody's going to open the bank vaults unless you can demonstrate sustained success. He was offered another year with the option to extend it to a three year deal if him and Radrizzani got on in the first year.
