Was watching the spanish football tonight and after Atletico Madrid went down to 10 men, they were 2-0 up at the time, i put a ten spot on Villareal at 6/1.

Villarreal then went 4-2 up and promptly lost 2 goals in the last 7 mins with the game ending 4-4. I know £70 isn't the end of the world but I was feeling so smug with myself!!

Good game though...

There was absolute carnage on betfair, the following bets were how much was lost at short odds on Villareal to win;

1.01 £279,545

1.02 £148

1.04 £17

1.05 £289

1.06 £6,758

1.07 £7,014

1.08 £296,352

1.09 £127,965

1.10 £113,534

1.11 £102,052

1.12 £29,985

1.13 £8,107

1.14 £46,348

Some people have won amazing amounts of money for speculative amounts, the draw was also backed as massive prices up to 269/1.

Oof. That is a fucking sore one.

Is that individual bets placed at those odds or the total staked at those odds offered?

It's the total staked at those odds.

More than likely, it is lots of people laying small (e.g. risking £10 to try and win £1000), matching the bets of a few of people backing big (e.g. risking £40,000 to try and win £400).
