Savage Henry
I vote for the Hymn of the Russian Federation, which conjures up images of tanks rolling into St Petersberg and the Red Army... brilliant, stirring stuff. Italy's is composed by Verdi, so it's a bit classy too.
k38jfb
As I watch Formula 1 racing, the only anthems I tend to hear are the German and Italian national anthems for Schumacher and Ferrari. I like the Italian anthem for the classy bit it the middle.
Steve McQueen
The French anthem is the best with notablementions for Russia & Italy.

Fuctifano
Formez vos bataillons! Marchons! Marchons! Qu'un sang impur abreuve nos sillons Which means... Arise children of the country The day of glory has arrived Against us tyranny's bloody standard is raised x2 Listen to the sound in the fields The howling of these fearsome soldiers They are coming amongst us To cut the throats of your sons and friends To arms, citizens! Form your battalions! March, march on Let impure blood water our furrows. Barking. But a top erm.. choon.

AyrshireTon
Spain - by virtue of being the only anthem in the world that has no words! Funny to see close ups of their fans all going "la la la la" to the tune. Easy to sing when drunk. AT

Guest spr
The Swiss one won't win any prizes either. No wonder they're pish at things, you can't imagine that funereal dirge pumping their citizens up for anything. Dreadful stuff.
Swampy
It's a shame the Romanians didn't make it, as their anthem is pure class. Me and two mates learned it to sing it at the Scotland-Romania game, but we bottled it (and forgot most of the words anyway.) Still bloody rousing stuff though. Gordon EF
I wasn't aware the English had a national anthem.
An Sionnach
I wasn't aware the English had a national anthem. They should be forced to sing 'Greensleeves' instead of that mingin' royalist pish that's inflicted on all the British German national anthem, cos, a bit like Ruggy's mind-jogger, I expect it to break into the theme tune for Radio 4's 'I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue!' Guest SocialClubSonny
1. God save our gracious Queen, Long live our noble Queen, God save the Queen! Send her victorious, Happy and glorious, Long to reign over us; God save the Queen! 2. O Lord our God arise, Scatter her enemies And make them fall; Confound their politics, Frustrate their knavish tricks, On Thee our hopes we fix, God save us all! 3. Thy choicest gifts in store On her be pleased to pour; Long may she reign; May she defend our laws, And ever give us cause To sing with heart and voice, God save the Queen! 4. Not in this land alone, But be God's mercies known, From shore to shore! Lord make the nations see, That men should brothers be, And form one family, The wide world over. 5. From every latent foe, From the assassins blow, God save the Queen! O'er her thine arm extend, For Britain's sake defend, Our mother, prince, and friend, God save the Queen! 6. Lord grant that Marshal Wade May by thy mighty aid Victory bring. May he sedition hush, And like a torrent rush, Rebellious Scots to crush God save the King! Guest Guinness_Alan
quality song that Mr Sonny Good old engerlund! They use a song which was written specifically as an anti Scottish song as their anthem, then get all upset and cry into their warm flat beer when those nasty Scots dont support them. Shame on all you people for not singing along to that "quality song"!
