jmothecat
Root out. Good ball, thought it might be too high but he was quite far back in the crease. Pity as I thought he was looking good. Tough morning.

Bearwithme
England might be the happier with the first day, especially after being put in and losing a couple of early wickets. Good knocks by Compton and Taylor.
mjw
Another horror show for the Windies against Australia. 91-6 chasing 551-3 dec Quick edit, I gave the Aussies 2 extra runs. Edited December 27, 2015 by mjw
peasy23
England have another 10th wicket stand to thank for getting them over 300, Broad and Finn doing well. Saffers will be under pressure now as they have been very poor with the bat lately.
peasy23
Kiss of death from me, Finn went lbw the next over, 303 all out. Decent score considering the start they made yesterday.

Disappointing score considering where they started this morning though. SA look favourites at the moment....

pandarilla
Broad strikes in the first over. He looks well up for this. Second wicket, 14-2
Savage Henry
He looks well up for this. Second bn, 14-2 There may be no stats to back this up at all, but he seems to really step things up when Anderson isn't in the team. Whether he likes the seniority or is asked to bowl slightly differently, I don't know, but he's currently in great form.

I don't think so, even before they lost the two early wickets. They batted appallingly in India recently, only got over 200 once. Yes a lot was to do with conditions but there was a lot of wickets simply thrown away. They are a team in transition and still trying to fill a lot of holes created by retirements in the last year or so. Savage Henry
Not having that, umpire. That was out. Also, Graeme Smith is excellent on TMS.

peasy23
Breakthrough by Broad, 3-14 he has now. Got one to nip away from De Villiers which he edged and was caught behind, Broad has been excellent all day. SA 100-3.

wulliemc
Interesting listening to tms at the end of play. All commentators saying they think eng have the edge despite the stats suggesting sa are slightly shading a win 41% to 40%. The stats are used by eng mgmt apparently and gathered over history. I guess.like duckworth Lewis is. I always go with runs on the board in this situation and above that batting fourth might be a mistake for sa
