peasy23
They got to 257. England with a brutal start, taking 61 runs from the first 6 overs. Bairstow has just gone for 43 from 23 balls. 61-1.I think having seen the turn Rashid was getting, England decided to just batter the seamers right from the off. Some terrific hitting.
peasy23
Roy gone as well, game on again. Morgan and Root have time to settle in after that start as England are way ahead of where the Saffers were at the same stage.
peasy23
Morgan out, caught and bowled by Hendricks. Good recovery by SA after getting hammered all round the ground at the start. 86-3.
die hard doonhamer
Ngidi's first over was a 9 ball over. Not to be outdone, Phehlukwayo just bowled a 10 ball over in his first. 4 of his first 6 deliveries were wide.

peasy23
England nudging their way comfortably towards the total, need 95 from 26 overs with Root and Denly looking set.
die hard doonhamer
Root goes for 49, excellent catch by Bavuma at leg slip off Shamsi. 162-4.

Banton edges one just past a diving slip for 4, bit fortunate.
die hard doonhamer
A second dropped catch of the day for Ngidi. He's having a shocker.

die hard doonhamer
Denly goes shortly after for 66. Good innings. 232-5.
Guest Moomintroll
Denly passes 50 with a six. 14 overs left, 29 required.Another decent performance from Denly, against all my expectations he has turned into a solid player at Test & ODI level. Having him & Root as batsmen who can bowl decent spin will give them great depth in Sri Lanka if they are used correctly.

I agree, but the rumour is that he'll be dropped for that tour with Bairstow to come back at 3. Banton goes for 32. England stuttering a bit but will still get there comfortably. peasy23
A wicket maiden for Ngidi, not something I expected to see any time today after the way he started.
