They got to 257.
England with a brutal start, taking 61 runs from the first 6 overs.
Bairstow has just gone for 43 from 23 balls. 61-1.
I think having seen the turn Rashid was getting, England decided to just batter the seamers right from the off. Some terrific hitting.

Root goes for 49, excellent catch by Bavuma at leg slip off Shamsi. 162-4.
Belter of a catch, England should still do this comfortably, but another quick wicket or two and it could get a bit hairy. Banton edges one just past a diving slip for 4, bit fortunate.

Another decent performance from Denly, against all my expectations he has turned into a solid player at Test & ODI level. Having him & Root as batsmen who can bowl decent spin will give them great depth in Sri Lanka if they are used correctly.

I agree, but the rumour is that he'll be dropped for that tour with Bairstow to come back at 3.

Banton goes for 32. England stuttering a bit but will still get there comfortably.
