Yoss
Too early to say that until we've seen them bat. We've got rookie bowlers up against Sarwan and Chanderpaul so it's optimistic to be that confident about taking twenty wickets at this stage. I'm happy as it stands though, agreed.

Bresnan & Onions may be playing their first Tests but they'll be playing in familiar conditions and Onions is in great form. Compare that to West Indies where only three of the specialist batsmen (Chanderpaul, Gayle & Sarwan) have played in county cricket. If England can't get 20 wickets here.................. 377 all out! Edwards will be on a hat-trick in the Second Innings always presuming England have to bat again. Edited May 7, 2009 by btb

btb
West Indies 99/4(19.2 ov) Swann on a hat-trick! A bit of a desperate performance (with the exception of Simmons) from a West Indies team with no confidence in their ability to match England's 377 by orthodox means. Yoss
Excellent, Swann takes wickets with the first and second balls of his second spell; Nash survives the hat-trick ball. He knows his stuff, that btb.
Yoss
No, I don't understand it either.

After 19.2 overs he was on a hat-trick. As for knowing my stuff, I didn't have to wait until the West Indies came in to know that they were going to struggle to match England's total. Anyway I'm off to do a rain dance.

Yoss
117/7, I wasn't expecting them to be this shit.
Yoss
119/8, four wickets in seven balls, including three in an over from Onions. Bresnan might not even get a bowl here.

Yoss
All out 152, following on. Onions has five-for, he's the new Ed Giddins.
Yoss
39/2, Gayle and Sarwan both out to Anderson. Bad light and probably close of play. Not even 70 overs in the day but fifteen wickets and if the weather stays clear tomorrow I wouldn't hold out much hope for those with tickets for Saturday, let alone Sunday.
RedWeb
Playing the Windies in May is a stupid thing to do. The West Indies batsman are utterly useless in early season, damp, swinging conditions and were always likely cop a real tanking. The only time West Indies should play in England is in late July/August after a long hot summer when the pitch will be less bowler friendly. England have always been good in home conditions (ie loads of seam movement) and stuffing the clueless Windies proves nothing. capybara
W Indies sounded very poor(listened more than watched). While i know conditions will not be to there liking, that was poor. They have that look again of i cant really be bothered. England seem to be poorly prepared on the road, and so on the evidence of the 1st two days are the W Indies. Still good to see a wicket that will let you score and give help to seem and spin.A rare bird indeed. Do not buy tickets for the 5th day of a test in England.
