Not impressed with Aus batting this morning. Too many dibs and dabs. The way the pitch and game is set should be looking to pick runs.

A lead of 25-35 would be pretty decent on this pitch. Try and get bat on ball, if your going out go out fighting not with a whimper.

Siddle is usually handy with a bat bit this series he is playing like a 10-11.

So, as suspected, Australia were not really as far in control as some were saying yesterday. And if England can get a lead of around a couple of hundred on a wicket like that, its going to take a bit of getting for the Aussies.

England wont be too upset about the lead Australia have got either, that was a reasonably good bating effort by the aussies on that surface. Runs should be tougher to get as this drags on.

England will be happy enough with that, really need to pull a batting performance out the bag though.

I reckon 280 may be more than enough, wouldn't fancy chasing anything over 220 on that wicket.

220 lead would be a tough chase on that.

Forget all the 'worst team in history' patter, this is test cricket thats unmissable.A small lead for Australia a pitch just offering a bit to the bowlers and a bit of rain predicted,it's got the lot.

Root looks like a good nicker.

He looks to play off the back foot, on a pitch thats moving about a bit. Thats why. Its why he got bowled there too.

Its encouraging when you see a batsman doing that on a wicket thats doing a bit.
