mjw
Pakistan ended on 234 all out, England survived the last couple of overs to be 4 without loss at the close. That will probably be a competitive score on this wicket.
Bearwithme
Good day for England by the looks of it. Let's see how they bat and we'll obviously have a better idea how good or bad a score 234 is.
booitsme7
England on 177-4 behind by 57 with the new ball now available. Taylor gets his maiden test fifty.
Bearwithme
England 24 behind now, Pakistan with 5 wickets to take. Taylor has played very well so far (64*), Bairstow has also done OK (36*), so far.

Bearwithme
Excellent day for England. Taylor (74*) has certainly justified his selection so far. Some will say he should have been in sooner. Edited November 2, 2015 by Bearwithme

Savage Henry
I don't think there's any question that on a different pitch, England would hammer Pakistan. And that's entirely Pakistan's prerogative - every other test side prepares pitches to suit their best players. I think England have shown a lot of progress this series.
peasy23
England slide to 306 all out, a lead of 72. Disappointing but predictable loss of the last 6 wickets for 80 odd runs.
Savage Henry
I think that's a good score on that pitch.
peasy23
Probably, some absolutely snorting balls from the spinners. Stokes batted last but his movement was obviously hindered by his injury.

btb
Only Anderson & Broad (Rashid hasn't bowled enough to say either way) of the England bowlers showing much in the way of control. Pakistan's tactics will be to pick off the spinners, wear down the seamers and hope for a deteriorating pitch on the last day. Bearwithme
Not looking good for England at the moment. Pakistan looking very comfortable.
booitsme7
England have picked up 2 wickets the first being a run-out off Azhar followed by the LBW off Malik for 0. 106-2 a lead of 34.
btb
106/2 - two quick wickets, that's the beauty of Test cricket. Pipped to the post...... ******************* No matter what has happened in the shorter forms of the game the ebb and flow of Test cricket remains close to what it always has been, or at least since I've been watching it which going back to the late 70's. We should be going into Day 4 with all four possible results easily imaginable. Edited November 3, 2015 by btb

Bearwithme
Looks a fairly strong position for Pakistan. No doubt England would like some early wickets tomorrow....
Savage Henry
Looks a fairly strong position for Pakistan. No doubt England would like some early wickets tomorrow.... Boycott always says add two wickets to the score to get a good gist of the state of play. I think England will be relatively happy. An early wicket or two and they'll be firm favourites.
