Guest The Phoenix
anyone see Piers Morgan facing down Brett Lee in the nets yesterday? Morgan must have been pished when he agreed to that. Brave, and stupid. Try and find it online somewhere its quite funny. And Brett wasn't at full tilt. Managed to hit him a couple of times too
peasy23
Haddin gets another 50, this time from just 59 balls. Why don't England try bowling at the stumps?
die hard doonhamer
Haddin gets another 50, this time from just 59 balls. Why don't England try bowling at the stumps? It's mad. It's such a basic and incredibly obvious tactic. As I'm typing Haddin finally goes. Lead of 51.
peasy23
It's mad. It's such a basic and incredibly obvious tactic. As I'm typing Haddin finally goes. Lead of 51. One over in particular by Anderson to Lyon made no sense as he fired in bouncer after bouncer, one needed a superb take by Bairstow to stop a boundary. Why not try a couple of short ones then bang in a Yorker?
Ad Lib
Should really have bowled fuller and restricted them to about 20-30 fewer runs. Still, a 51 run advantage is not to be snifffed at in a match where big scores don't seem on the cards. First hour's crucial now.
Bobby Skidmarks
Haddin plays off his pads as good as anybody, it was an obvious tactic from the start to bowl wider as he was always capable of edging to slip, like he did frequently in the Summer. Haddin though is in the sort of form Prior was in 2012. Everything he hits is going for runs.
Ad Lib
Cook looks to be trying to take the game to them. Much more urgent in this opening 3 overs.
booitsme7
England 54-0 at lunch and that gives them a lead of 105.
No8.
Carberry very unlucky to be given out LBW. Just before that a strange decision overturned after Root had been given out caught behind with only Haddin appealing for it

No8.
Englands batsmen doing there best to throw this away again.
Swarley
231 definitely achievable for the Aussies. Saying that Clarke and Warner will go for a duck....
Bearwithme
Australia very much favourites now.
AberdeenBud
WTF? Collapsing against Lyon? They're at it now surely.
Highlandmagyar
Just watching the highlights. Absolute suicide from England's batsmen, when they had the upper hand!!
DeeTillEhDeh
The summer Ashes papered over a lot of cracks. 3-0 flattered England - they got lucky with the weather a few times and whenever batting or bowling failed the other would cover for that failing. This series they have had both batting and bowling failing at the same time - in fact I'd go as far to say that the issue has not been poor batting but rank rotten (bar the first innings here) bowling.
DeeTillEhDeh
WTF? Collapsing against Lyon? They're at it now surely. I find it bizarre too - he's a pretty average spinner - not a Warne.
AberdeenBud
I find it bizarre too - he's a pretty average spinner - not a Warne. He's not even a Swann IMO. England playing so bad they're making average players look good. Can only see the whitewash now.
peasy23
Wow. Went to bed before England started to bat and even with the extremely low standards they have set this series I'm stunned to get up and find Australia back in again! Haddin is averaging 65 for the series, that's brilliant cricket, especially in some of the situations he has been batting, like last night's rearguard action.
