Clarke just confirmed in on-pitch interview with Warne that Oval will be his last Test.

The Barmy Army were in the middle of giving Clarke a standing ovation after he announced that, when the England players walked past. So much for that moment.

He'll get another chance for one at The Oval which should also be the last time we see Johnson and Warner with those annoying bits of fluff under their lips.

There's about half a dozen of those Australian players who should retire.

Who?

Former editor of The Mirror.

Edit: just read his comments: 'today isn't the day to get into the KP debate... Having said that' then he goes on to talk about how terribly KP has been treated. Twat.

Australia squad named for the tour

Michael Clarke (capt)

Steve Smith (vice-capt),

Fawad Ahmed- didn't even know he was on the tour

Brad Haddin (wk)

Josh Hazlewood

Ryan Harris

Mitchell Johnson

Nathan Lyon

Mitchell Marsh

Shaun Marsh

Peter Nevill (wk)

Chris Rogers

Peter Siddle

Mitchell Starc

Adam Voges

David Warner

Shane Watson.

Of those remaining, Johnson is 34 and S Marsh 32. The bowling seems OK , but that's 5 of the top 7 picked for the first test gone or very likely to be after the Oval, hell of a turnover.

I think Clarke's days were numbered anyway, but it was only right that he called it a day his way. His biggest mistake on this tour was winning the toss at Edgbaston and choosing to bat, when the conditions and the weather forecast all pointed towards it suiting England, and especially Anderson. His oft repeated answer of "you'll have to ask the selectors" pointed towards him not agreeing with the team selection.

Very few positives that Australia can take from this match and series. Starc bowled well yesterday, and Voges had a decent knock in difficult circumstances and conditions.

In the Bowling rankings Stuart Broad moves up to second behind Dale Steyn and James Anderson is third.

Dale Steyn average 22.58

Stuart Broad average 29.59

Jimmy Anderson average 29.38.

So on the Wanderers pitch the three of them should be equally matched. :)
