Savage Henry
It's a GPS tracker of some sort, looks kinda like a sports bra. For football I'd read it tracks distance run and heart rate, wouldn't have thought the former was so important in cricket. The days of guys who can't field passed some while ago. Even someone relatively fit like Jonathan Trott looked awful in the field towards the end. The days of fat b*****ds at slip are gone, largely. I can quite see why this is valuable in cricket.

If you have been out for a bowl and are still blowing your chances of dropping a dolly are enhanced, rotating the strike with sharp singles, your changes of edging will go up. Identifying who needs more work on recovery or who should not be fielding in catching positions between bowls will be meaningful information. booitsme7
England won the toss and decided to bat but after 25 overs the score is 112-8. Eoin Morgan retired hurt after being hit on the head by a Mitchell Starc bouncer and will not bat again so when the next wicket falls its the end of innings.

I'm not convinced, but he could hardly do worse than Lyth.

Savage Henry
Hayles has LBW in tests written all over him. To be Devil's Advocate. Shane Watson was the same, but played fifty odd tests. A susceptibility to the LBW is no more of a disadvantage than having a problem with the spinner or the short stuff. Hales could be David Warner-lite. Only minus the casual racism, and with fewer shots. Edited September 15, 2015 by Savage Henry
Eednud
Australia eventually announce cancellation of Bangladesh tour due to security concerns. Will be interesting to what happens with for the Socceroos WC qualifier in November. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2015-10-01/cricket-australia-postpones-bangladesh-tour-security-concerns/6821730 Edited October 1, 2015 by Eednud
Savage Henry
England have recruited Daniel Vettori as spin coach to the Lions squad this summer. Cracking appointment, you'd have thought.
mjw
Finishing night shift at six so I'll be hitting the sack with TMS in the background today. This was a shocker of a tour for England last time round and they could still fall apart facing spin.
wulliemc
This is dull to watch. Absolute road. Broad will be spewing about getting a wicket denied (rightfully) by a no ball. Wood looked like he could cry when he banged one in and it didn't get up at all.

peasy23
Steven Finn ruled out of this part of the tour, going by the evidence of what this pitch has done he might be better off at home! Going to be a long slog for the pace bowlers. Chris Jordan has been called up to replace him.
jmothecat
Haven't managed to catch much of this. Has it been as dull as the scorecard suggests?
peasy23
Haven't managed to catch much of this. Has it been as dull as the scorecard suggests? Yep. Nothing in the pitch at all. Nightmare debut for Rashid with the worst figures ever for a first test, 0-163.
dorlomin
Should be a draw unless the pitch takes turn. Incredible knock by Malik, flat as the pitch was it takes a fair bit of will power to keep at it in that heat for that long.
