peasy23
England bring up 350-3, Cook was dropped early on but to be fair it was a tough chance behind the stumps and Root survived an lbw review, ball was just clipping the stumps on the DRS so he stayed in on the umpire's call. Pitch still looks like a day 1 pitch and the outfield is dead slow.
peasy23
Cook gets his double hundred, Root going along nicely too.
Fuctifano
1444955267683.jpg What s batting card that is. IIRC there was a guy who topped himself when Jayasuriya didn't go on and break the world record. Although Marvan Atapattu must have loved the 3 days off.

Savage Henry
The commentary on that run out on the concrete pitch is more entertaining than the actual game.
Bearwithme
Cook on 230. Bairstow out for 8.

Fuctifano
This is really just about how many (more) records Cook can set now, although if he's still there at lunch tomorrow I don't think he'll have hit the 400. That said, only England have a sniff of winning it now if Pakistan capitulate in their 2nd knock.

I wonder what the record is for time spent on the field during a test match, Cook has been out there for every minute of play so far.
peasy23
Cook goes past 250, 517-5 now.
Savage Henry
Cook has now batted longer than any player in English test history. Pretty remarkable when you think of it.
Bobby Skidmarks
I hope Cook bats through the fifth day. Just for the luls.
peasy23
Cook out for 263, looping a top edge for an easy catch.

Savage Henry
Cook out for 263, looping a top edge for an easy catch. Off a no ball, too. England looking to set up a declaration tonight, I guess, going by some of the shots.
booitsme7
Bad light brings the end to day 4. England end the day on 569-8 a lead of 46 runs.
peasy23
This is the sort of pitch that does nothing to counter any arguments against Test cricket. There did look to be a little rough on the pitch at last but it's far too late to make a difference I would think. Suspect England will bat until lunch (or maybe 150ish of a lead?) then somehow try and skittle Pakistan out in two sessions. Savage Henry
England declare at 598/9. a lead of 75. Pakistan 3/2 already. Somehow, Cook has contrived to make England favourites. Couple more early wickets and this could be a` memorable England win.
Savage Henry
35/2 at lunch, but should have been 35/3 as Rachid plainly had the guy caught behind. Even without hotspot, that was pretty clear.
