Ira Gaines
That was a huge test there and Anderson did very well to come through that.
betting competition
Just concerned about Anderson averages 98.75 is decent but he is normal over 100
The Naitch
I'm done. What a match. Ando doesn't half put everyone through the ringer!
Ludo*1
What a massive difference in terms of attitude between Phil Taylor and Gary Anderson/MVG. The arrogance from Taylor is markedly different between MVG and Anderson. Anderson is incredibly humble and whilst MVG can be arrogant, it's always done with a wink and a smile and he always pays credit to the opposition.
JamieStevenson
To me that promo looked like M. U. G - MUG. instead MVG.
betting competition
3 or 4 years ago everyone would be looking to Lewis v MVG as special match but Lewis has been very poor last lot of years
Ludo*1
Does anyone fancy Lewis here?
Ludo*1
Just now, betting competition said: 3 or 4 years ago everyone would be looking to Lewis v MVG as special match but Lewis has been very poor last lot of years Aye, doesnt feel that long ago that Lewis was being hyped as the one to take Taylor's mantle.
NJ2
That was a bloody struggle! Hopefully mvg smashes Lewis
JamieStevenson
Routine victory for MvG tonight.

betting competition
Thought MVG was going to have a routine 4-0. Those missed double hurt him again like most of this season. Lewis playing ok at times though - must be 100 average for him
lichtie23
MVG looking a bit out of sorts here

Poet of the Macabre
Well, that was a fun night after the dreadful slop of the opener! Gary Anderson showed some impressive bottle to beat Dobey. People will say he shouldn't have been in that position but Dobey was excellent and probably played some of his best darts in that final set. A lesser man would absolutely have lost. Superb game and one of the best I've seen. Lewis was also superb but still couldn't come near MvG, who was absolutely imperious. Just a remarkable standard of scoring. Averaging 108 when you've missed 18 darts at double is unreal. The two 11-dart legs when it looked like going 2-2 was as clutch as you're ever likely to see. Even so, it was really starting to feel like a "moment" for a while in that match. Lewis started like he knew he was going to lose but started to play well and some of his old arrogance and showmanship was returning. The crowd was genuinely really into it and were solidly behind Aidy but he just couldn't handle that level of performance. Expect the quarter-final line-up to be: MvG vs Wade Anderson vs Chisnall Cross vs Smith Aspinall vs Dolan (!!!)
Neilly
Van de Pas finds himself in the last 16 playing absolute dog shit and 35k richer (at least). Him and Dolan will be fucking vile on the een. I hope both lose.
Poet of the Macabre
In fairness to Dolan, he averaged 95, took out a few big checkouts and was over 40% on the doubles in beating King. No defence for Van de Pas, he's absolute trash. What a route to a semi-final though, Jim Long, Toni Alcinas, Brendan Dolan, Nathan Aspinall/Devon Petersen. Thankfully Cross or Smith will murder any of them in the semi.
BishopLenBrennan
That was some match, Gary really likes to put us through the wringer. I thought Dobey showed an excellent temperament last night and played some of his best darts under pressure. If he was playing anyone outside the top two in the world he would have won that and showed that he can compete at that level. Anderson was outstanding once he got himself going though, and we're back pointing towards an MVG vs Anderson semi final.
Fuctifano
Dunno whether I want Wade to get pumped out now or for him to get through and get whitewashed off MVG
Neilly
If Joyce plays the way he has been I fancy he will beat Wade. Van de Pas averaging around 80 again. Get him tae f**k.
