IrishBhoy
I put money on Painter last night, just turned the TV on in time to see Harrington, Mardle and Bristow backing Painter to win, usually means he will lose.

The Naitch
This really is shaping up nicely. Part talking to the board after finally hitting D20 was brilliant!

The Naitch
Superb 161 from Part to break throw. Fantastic stuff! EDIT: Another classy bull finish from Part in the 4th set. This is great. Edited December 29, 2011 by The Naitch

Cruical break of throw for Painter in the 4th set. Could be 2-2 in a couple of minutes. EDIT: He let Part back in but that was a good recovery from Kev. 2-2 it is then! tigerton
The standard hasn't been great, but it has been great to watch. They both seem to be finding the best times to hit big scores and also the worst times to be throwing bags of nails!
The Naitch
Tremendous 104 from Part to break throw and win the 5th set. What a game.
F_T_Y
no no no no no.painter is crumbling up there.104 from part and he is throwing for the match. The crowd in the stand shouting stand up if your in the stand, the people sitting down return with you cant afford a table !. Part takes it 4-2.Bet down already, might have a single on jaws later. The Naitch
Part deservedly wins it 4-2. Like tigerton mentioned, it was a great watch with both players htting the big out shots AND throwing some dross just to crank up the tension. Brilliant.
Davis Love III
What an engrossing match! As Tigerton said, a mixed bag in terms of the quality, but the tension up there made the match absolutely riveting. But fantastic entertainment! I'm delighted that John pulled it off, but I do feel for Kevin Painter as he'll feel yet again, as he did in 08, that this was his best chance of becoming World Champion. Perhaps the pressure got to him, but Part certainly felt it too. A great way to start what's going to be a classic day of darts!
tigerton
The pressure certainly got to painter at crucial moments. With Taylor out, we'll see who has the bottle now. Arguably, this is when the pressure is greater as you know how big an opportunity is. So far, Painter and King have buckled, who's next?
The Naitch
The pressure getting to Steve Farmer there - hit a 180 when he only had 176 remaining!
The Naitch
Wade wins it 4-0 ... not the most exciting match we'll see at this year's tournament.
MTJ
Part has been woeful for four years until this tournament. I reckon he'll beat Wade though. Wade has been pish so far and had some easy opponents. Edited December 29, 2011 by MTJ
Marshmallo
That interview with Nicholson was sheer class, I love the guy. This game is great. Huybrechts, my boy Nicholson, and wee Dana. I hope it goes to 7 sets. -
The Naitch
That interview with Nicholson was sheer class, I love the guy. It was fantastic - really didn't mince his words when it came to Bristow. The commentators are giving Eric back up during this one, unsurprisingly.
