Strauss has left Sale and will be joining up with the Bulls in SA for next season (hopefully after a successful world cup).

Seems likely that the World Cup will be his swansong for Scotland as cant see him travelling over for the 6N's when he will be just starting pre-season for Super Rugby - and with so long out doubt he would be in shape.

Thank f**k they're not in our group.

Would love to see them rip Wales a new one though.

I know a few Australians that are panicing that they are going to finish 3rd behind Wales and Fiji - they were already convinced that Wales will beat them, now they have lost arguably their best player in Falou, and Fiji looking dangerous, they are losing all hope of making the QF's

Wales getting knocked out at the group stage would be tremendous
If they make it out the group they will play one of England, France or Argentina(USA and Tonga also in group but doubt they will finish top 2) and will hopefully get hammered by them

Josh Strauss has left the Sale Sharks to return to South Africa to play for the Blue Bulls, who (I think) are a Currie Cup side.

It means that we won't face him in Europe next season and it probs means that his Scotland appearances are finished tbh.

He’ll go down as a “what could have been”, I reckon. A bit like Matt Proudfoot, in that regard. I wonder if his heart was ever really in it.

According to legend he was using the Pro12/14 as a stepping stone to the English Premiership.  However when he went to Sale he was consistent at coming off the bench so he never really made his mark tbh.  At Glasgow he was solid but he never really stepped up in a Scotland shirt imo...

That's a fucking horror show for the Japan game

Matt Carley is pretty decent, had him as ref at a couple of Newcastle Falcons games and he didn't alter the outcome - not hard as we were poo for most of last season.

Barnes for the Ireland game is a good shout though but unfortunately we could end up with the Daffyd Owens show against Samoa as he interjects his opinions to Sir evert 10 seconds

Carley reffed Glasgow in Lyon in December, and despite Glasgow dominating territory, possession and the scoreboard, they ended up on the wrong side of his penalty count conceding twice as many as Lyon. The breakdown is an absolute lottery when refs.

Fortunately he's just on the touchline, but O'Keeffe is even less consistent!

New home and away jerseys.

Both ordered in the RWC variant already, depending on how they look when they arrive I might be tempted to buy the cotton supporters shirts as well, they could go really nicely with the kilt for the 6 nations next year

I can only go with my experience from the games he reffed my lot last season, not that Falcons were ever dominating teams last season so my opinion is pretty weighted as we deserved to be blown off the park for being absoulute dog toffee ;).

Look on the brightside, JP Doyle is nowhere near a Scotland game, he really is attrocious!!
