GAD
So next week if we take the 5 points we have an outside chance of going through? I'm going down to Sale so I'm going to pretend we can go through no matter what.

Snobot
I thought one of the 15s looked really threatening with ball in hand and he wasn’t playing for Exeter

Surely if Montpellier beat Gloucester then the best 2nd place in that group can only get 15 at best? eta it’s only 3 best runners up isn’t it so we’re a bit f*cked Edited January 11, 2020 by Snobot
Detournement
If Warriors scrape in as 8th seed they are going to Dublin anyway so realistically it doesn't matter. Good performance there. Zander is looking great and Huw Jones is back. Gibbins is a clown and needs phased out. The decision when the guy knocked the ball forward on the touchline from the penalty was absolutely criminal.

flyingscot
Great game but some of the most incompetent officiating you'll see. When Poite pulled yellow on Gibbins, it was a result as it was a stonewall red and we'd have been screwed then. French officials are awful at the breakdown and scrums, you can see the coin toss in their heads.
AngusTheBull
Genuinely one of the worst refereeing performances I’ve ever seen yesterday, utterly abysmal. Gibbons and Wilson were getting very obviously (and understandably) frustrated which didn’t seem to help. Was it Poite that Laidlaw and Townsend came out criticising during the 6 nations? Doesn’t appear he has warmed to anything Scottish since...
honestly united
Poite in particular, and the frnech refs in general never seem to give us anything. But on to the match, best performance of the season from Glasgow. IF that team had turned up against La Rochelle in the last game we would be in great position going into the last game against Sale, not whinging about poor refereeing
John Lambies Doos
Benetton beating Northampton here would be ideal

flyingscot
Glasgow very much have a chance to qualify. Need to beat Sale well and hope for favours but Northampton, Gloucester and Saracens have tough games.
Mark Connolly
Bad news for Glasgow as Mike Adamson is moved off the Lyon-Northampton game!

John Lambies Doos
Bad news for Glasgow as Mike Adamson is moved off the Lyon-Northampton game!Had to happen. Totally forgot that Racing have an ex Munster coach for their attack. Hopefully they can do something against Saracens. Unlikely but it's another avenue.Scottish teams traditionally don't do well when they rely on other results.#naeluck

I don't see them tripping up against a disinterested Lyon.
Stevieda
It really is an incredible level of executive pay relative to the financial results. Couple that with on field performance being less than meeting targets and it's really does require an independent review.

It's pretty obvious that Townsend is in the last chance saloon as well as coach. As popular as he is with the fans, there's no doubt that Scotland have went backwards under him.....we simply can't go on conceding an average of 3 tries and 25 points a game. There's a good article below from Tom English, which highlights exactly what we're missing.....an aggressive defence and an element of savvy brutality that countries like Ireland and Wales have, whereas we're constantly an easy touch. https://www.bbc.com/sport/rugby-union/51109386 Maybe a new defensive coach will make a difference, but it's certainly true that it's time for quite a few Scotland players to discover their inner khunt.
