  1. Was it ever confirmed if Matt Fagerson was injured? Would be very surprised for him to have been dropped but that seems to be the rumours online. I’m disappointed England dropped Freddie Steward, Russell would really have got some joy with kicks in behind him. Now to spend all afternoon praying Z Fagerson can last 80….
  2. Given there’s no way that’s an obvious error so has no chance of being overturned (even if you debate yellow/red), there will be an extra game added to his ban for a frivolous appeal?
  3. Imagine being that age and being so raging that your team lost one (ONE) game of football while strolling to the title that you throw a punch at somebody. Pathetic.
  4. I don’t think this is necessarily true - we have a large (and imo very good) squad, we just have barely utilised it. You’re right in the toll playing Thursday/Sunday every week is having on some players - I just don’t think it would be if the squad was being utilised more effectively.
  5. Was going to post the same. Gartenmann just never looks like he’ll get beaten 1v1, he’s a proper defender. If we can somehow get him signed up for next season then that would be great business and should be one of the current priorities. Jenssen was excellent and that’s one of the best games I’ve seen Rubezic have for us.
  6. At the league cup semi a few weeks ago, at the first entrance we walked by the young team were getting thorough airport style pat downs from the stewards there. We went through the next gate along (the adjacent block) and they weren’t searching anybody at all. Seemed a bit bizarre when you can literally stroll to the next section inside with no checks.
  7. I largely agree but think your second point somewhat contradicts the first. We don’t have the squad to compete on teo fronts if we only play the same 14 players game after game while Robson complains that all our players are tired because they all played three days before. If we actually utilised more of the players we have available then our Sunday post-Europe performances might have been less lethargic. I’m pretty worried Miovski will fizzle out post-Christmas (if he’s still here) due to the way he’s basically had to carry the team every game so far (not to mention playing internationally as well).
  8. Making sliding tackles with your head is enough for a multimillion pound move imo.
  9. Hearing unconfirmed reports that Stevie May has shaved his head. Can a Perth Saintee please confirm or deny this shocking news.
  10. Glad to hear. Annoyingly I’m already away during the Frankfurt trip so debating between Greece and Helsinki in late-November. How many away tickets did Hearts get?
  11. Scott Burns retweeted somebody who was insinuating we’re announcing a signing in the morning. Suspect he’s at it and it’ll be (at most) a free agent but we’ll see…
  12. Having Sadiq on the RW won them the tie, it meant Devlin was fully preoccupied by him with Morris’s lack of defensive awareness/tracking back creating space and opportunities for their other players. Even then, we still had the chances to win the game. Just read Robson’s comments that Gartenmann can play and has played RB and RCB.
  13. CM aside, that’s about as strong/stacked as we could have hoped for a few weeks ago. Given Devlin can cover CB and MacKenzie LWB (at a push), we certainly have plenty of defensive options come the inevitable injuries and Rubezic suspensions (I can’t recall if Dadia can also cover CB?). Hopefully now we can see a bit of consistency in terms of players being selected in their actual positions (Devlin).
  14. Agreed, Miovski and Duk had enough chances between them to score three or four, we could easily have won that against a very good team so I’m not too concerned with the end result I’m not against the back three like quite a few on here seem to be, more concerned that we seem to have no tactical flexibility in how we approach games or options to change things up during games. Was it ever confirmed why McDonald was dropped to the bench?
  15. Think this is true, there’s also the factor that I don’t think his style of football would be as effective for bigger clubs who will dominate games more against opponents who will sit in more against Hibs than the likes of St Mirren. He’s the standout domestic option and he’d 100% take it, but hopefully they go for Lennon again.
  16. There’s the clear and obvious penalty Beaton or VAR should have awarded Aberdeen following Miovski’s goal in the 100th+ minute. The other ‘clear’ VAR decisions missed appear to be awarding offside against a player who was clearly offside, and not sending Miovski off because weegies can’t be trusted to behave themselves. The 1970’s Brazil team were lucky to even get a point given the clear additional penalty missed by the officials.
  17. Going to be a tough game against last seasons Champions League winners, hopefully we can see the likes of Jensen and Sokler get a run out. Whichever team doesn’t get a man sent off to win. In all honesty, my main hope is that we don’t come away with any injuries…
  18. Very much enjoyed Devlin and (particularly) Miovski giving some shithousery to the home support here. https://x.com/aberdeenfc/status/1694998057782534277?s=61&t=_tSXTuDvWkgYKm264P-1zQ
  19. It’s a lot of money but would tend to agree that we’re not going to find a proven young player who we know fits and can slot into our system well without spending a similar fee anyway. Given we already have one CB who is new to the league and possibly a new LWB too, it might be more prudent to bite the bullet given how late in the day it is now getting.
  20. Don’t think this is true and/or fair tbh. I think Duk is lacking a bit of full match sharpness due to his late return following international duty and is still lacking the half yard he had from October onwards last season. I know some might point to Miovski coming back at a similar time, but he’s not just off the back of his first season in professional football (rather than playing for a B team).
  21. Football snobbery perhaps but would much prefer to sell him to a good league abroad when we eventually do. Think he’s got the perfect blend of athleticism and technique to do well somewhere like the bundesliga.
  22. A shirt tug is a subjective decision, the ball being over the line is a factual yes/no. Was the ball 100% without doubt over the line as proven by the footage? If not (as here), then stick with the onfield decision. It’s pretty straightforward and the same would have applied had the ref awarded the goal.
