  1. Ritchie needs to be in the refs face about this - he’s normally quite good at it tbf
  2. The fact there’s been no replay of it would suggest it wasn’t forward… France after being warned in the first half that the next penalty would be a yellow have now conceded at least three penalties since - no card
  3. I think we *are* fitter than them. Problem is they are overpowering us when they get to bing forward which levels that somewhat .
  4. That French line out was blatantly not straight but not called this time surprisingly…
  5. It’s amazing the amount of times the attacking team has a go forward maul heading to the oppositions try line which gets blatantly pulled down and the ref somehow thinks it’s the attacking team who’s collapsed it.
  6. Ref tried to shitebag that there.
  7. The chances of a French tv director finding that clip would be less than zero though.
  8. Thought it was pretty fair tbh, Gray was pretty blatantly in at the side as well.
  9. ITV’s coverage really is atrocious. I was feeling pretty confident until watching that game last night. How bad Wales and England were has sapped all my confidence.
  10. FWIW, County did exactly the same against us in the New Year game. Came for a 0-0 draw, timewasted from about ten minutes in, and had more players than I’ve ever seen go down with head knocks. Malky seems to have forgotten all about that though…
  11. Aberdeen is probably one of the few places in the world which *does* require a surplus of geologists… Anyway, I’m fairly confident the new manager will not high up on any current bookies manager shortlist - and I’m 100% confident it won’t be Derek McInnes who seems to have shot up in recent days
  12. Would Lambert actually be interested in the Well job? Always got the impression he sees himself as “too big” for a job like that though the former player connection may help.
  13. From what I have managed to catch back, looked like a Tuipulotu clearance caught Hogg slightly rather than anything sinister
  14. I think he lost to us in 99 as Ireland boss too (clutching at straws here)
  15. If Biggar thinks Wales should be getting the praise Scotland are, then he should maybe try winning more than 3 of their last 13 games and not just rolling over at home like they did last week. Wales and Ireland seem to love putting out barbs about how Scotland are always claiming to be this fantastic team but it’s not something I’ve ever actually heard anyone Scottish say.
  16. Wales did the same right? Old man AWJ apparently failed a HIA and was out for this weekend but this has since unsurprisingly been downgraded to a “neck injury”. Not that he did anything at all against Ireland.
  17. I’d be shocked if he hadn’t didn’t do it already.
  18. Ireland do it too and you can see the benefits in how familiar their players are with one another in transitioning from domestic to international games but I guess this probably wouldn’t work as well were Leinster not as absolutely stacked as they are. Would be absolutely madness for Scotland (or any country) with only two pro teams to go down this route. On the positive side, I don’t think going to England from the URC is in any way the step up in level it perhaps has been in the past (though France probably still is though also comes with its own challenges).
  19. I’m genuinely astonished that Hughes can look at what he’s done over the past five years and think it qualifies him for the job, nevermind to so publicly discuss his application. He’s some boy. He only left Middlesbrough in October. It’s equally possible he wanted a few months break before another appointment or can’t join another championship club for e.g. six months as part of his Middlesbrough payoff. FWIW, considering how much he’d cost and the fact you’d imagine he’d be looking to move back to an upper-end championship team fairly quickly, I’d prefer to look elsewhere. As others have noted, there’s better ways to invest the kind of outlay that would be involved.
  20. Really don’t get the hype about him, Hogg, Keenan and Williams are all significantly better. Italy could easily have won that, some poor decision making and lack of accuracy at the end.
  21. Actually thought Dickson had a good game in the Welsh Ireland game yesterday considering Biggar, Williams and Sextons antics albeit you definitely feel more relaxed about the reffing when it’s not your team playing. I’m just pleased it’s not Matt Carley who seems to have a pathological hatred of Scottish rugby. What was most pleasing about yesterday for me (aside from watching it in an English pub) was the fact we really didn’t have to be at our best to match England. Gone are the days when you needed every player to have a 10/10 performance and a stroke of luck to come out on top. I also think Finn’s performance took a bit of unwarranted stick. England trying to smash him every time he got the ball created so much space for others.
