It's not just Glasgow that do it, but they should definitely be taking points, especially when they were trailing at the time. There's no pressure bigger than scoreboard pressure.

The scrum had got obliterated about a minute before, and would have been at the previous scrum if they hadn't gone channel 1. They'd have had a penalty on halfway if we had gone for the scrum

There’s your answer.  Winds me up when teams don’t take scrums at the death.  Channel 1 quick strike to me is a better percentage of securing the ball than a malfunctioning lineout.  It wasn’t like they stopped the frogs hopping down the pitch anyway.

I know, the past two years I've been saying to myself 'well he must have said to Toony he's planning to retire at the end of the season'. He definitely won't be an option by the next world cup but hard to believe he wouldn't have been a handy player to have still had playing regularly going into a WC when your starting XV and most experienced back 3 player retires to spend more time with a horse racing presenter

Yeah, especially against Ireland and SA when you know you'll be under the cosh and the ball will be in the air a lot. Maitland is the back three with the best skillset to deal with that.

Ollie Smith ruled out for up to 12 months with a knee injury. A hammer blow for him and Glasgow. Scotland are paper thin at full back and will have to hope Kinghorn stays fit. Maitland would be more than capable cover.
