Whats the EU position currently?

Supporting Israel’s “right to defend itself”, which essentially means allowing Israel to indiscriminately flatten large parts of one of the most densely populated places in the world.

Israel cutting off food supply to the Gaza still would seem to be in direct contradiction to Humanitarian law.

Hopefully NATO or the UN can have a word and make sure Palestinians aren't starved to death.

They will not as "Israel has the right to defend itself", which means we ignore the specifics of the Israeli response and their treatment of the Palestinians until the next major Hamas attack, at which point we stop ignoring it but can use it to pretend we have the slightest sympathy with Palestinians for 5 minutes before reasserting the right of Israel to defend itself.

The right to defend yourself must have limits, otherwise why not use chemical weapons?

Blockading an entire country is barbaric and should be the focus of international condemnation, countries must always act in a more moderate way than terrorists regardless of how disturbing and destructive the terrorists have been.

I take it you don’t know much about how NATO operates?

Israel have used white phospherous on Gaza in the past iirc. If you are expecting anything but the mildest rebuke for anything but rounding the population of Gaza up and shooting them all you'll be very disappointed

There might be something about being brought up in or around refugee camps under Seige and occasional murderous aerial bombardment from your neighbour with no hope of improving your situation that could skew one’s moral compass a bit?

Shooting unarmed civilians is clearly very badly wrong, morally and against all laws of war. But these guys aren’t Western incel jihadis. They’re acting inhumanly in part because they’ve been systematically dehumanised, many for their whole lives.

Spot on.  Sadly.

One of the problems with social media is direct access to some really harrowing content. We have seen it in Ukraine and we are now seeing it here. Not to get too deep about it but it makes me think about the world I've brought a child in to. Never mind air fairy heaven and hell tales, there is genuinely hell on earth in certain areas.

Depressingly, you are spot on with this.

Considering they have urged calm in the Kosovo Serbia conflict it wouldn't be that radical a departure to do something similar here.

Yeah this, a lot of people put their own moral compass on it from e.g. Scotland where life is completely incomparable.

The history of the various uprisings, and direct Arab/Israeli conflicts here is that when the Israelis have gained

the 'upper hand' , or have flattened huge chunks of Gaza......., a phone call comes through to Israel from

America, which says ... "That's enough...".

The US are the armourers, the financiers, the supplers of sateliite data ..... to  Israel.
