igor
I've got a £10 e/w bet on Ten Down (evens) at the Windsor 2.30, if I don't get something from this i'm giving up gambling for a week. Edited December 10, 2009 by igor
DJP
I've got a £10 e/w bet on Ten Down (evens) at the Windsor 2.30, if I don't get something from this i'm giving up gambling for a week. Why each way? If it is less then 4/1 and odds only paying out 1/4 off the odds, anything shorter and you will make a loss if it gets placed.

It needs to be 7/1 @ 1/4 odds to even break even...
ClydeSI
It needs to be 7/1 @ 1/4 odds to even break even... I'm afraid DJP is right
SaltyTON
I'm afraid DJP is right 1/4 of 4/1 (5) is 1/4 (1.25) 1/4 of 7/1 ( would be Evens (2) ... unless they use some odd system to work it out!
rydo1982
DJP is right. 4/1 on an each way bet at quarter the odds will recover exactly your total staked. £25 e/w at 4/1 = £50 staked 4/1 divided by 1/4 = 1. 1 x £25 = £25 'won' + £25 stake returned = £50. Obviously if its a fifth the odds you need 5/1 or better to break even.
ClydeSI
£10 e/w on a horse at 4/1 is a £20 stake. If the horse is placed – the pay out is ¼ of the odds. ¼ of 4/1 is 1/1 (ie evens) £10 place stake at evens returns £20 (including original stake) edit - sorry - just noticed above post Edited April 16, 2007 by ClydeSI

Cabbage
Been told DESERT MASTER will take all the beating in the 4.15 Warwick. Take as you like.
rydo1982
Looks like a decent shout- definitely wouldn't rule out its chances. Unfortunately no way of me getting to a bookies for it - or being able to bet online. Having said that I'd maybe end up swaying between a few others as well (Nusoor and Figaro Flyer would hold some appeal) so maybe its not a bad thing.

rydo1982
Sporting Life website for me. Only check it for prices/racecards and results though. No sure if theres a commentary/video option. Efistorm won that 4.15 @ 7's.
rydo1982
Not good enough, sorry lads. No harm done- or at least not in my case. Didn't actually realise it was a 5f race. Not my favourite to get involved in.
