  1. That was a terrible first half last night, followed by a pretty reasonable second half. I thought the switch to 3-5-2 really worked in an attacking sense but we still looked very suspect down the flanks whilst defending. I always try to separate the performance from the result and not just think everything was good because we won - or bad because we got beat - and being completely honestly we could’ve had zero complaints had Inverness run out winners. Three attempts off the woodwork and a few wonder saves from Kev gives us the win.

Games like last night are why it’s difficult to really complain too much about finishing 2nd. Yes it’s very easy to look at the games v Arbroath and wonder “what if?”, but for every defeat snatched from the jaws of victory we probs let have at least 2 reverses of that where we’ve nicked it without fully deserving it. I think 2nd is probably the right position for us based on the evidence over a whole season.

Still proud of the resilience shown by the squad and it’s another result up in Inverness which, for a long time, many of us thought we’d never see. Fully expect Dundee Utd to piss on Ayr from a great height this afternoon and kill it.

Performances from last night which I thought were noteworthy:

Kev’s performance is as good from any goalkeeper I’ve seen this season. Sensational stops at vital times. 10/10

Dylan Corr did well in basic defending but looked shaky on the ball. I said earlier in the season on the podcast that I think he’s got a lot of the raw attributes to be a very good player but needed game time. I probably still stand by that, but he’s not had the game time to develop. Imagine he will drop into League 1 next season and have a good year.

Liam Dick has had a good season at left back. Dependable and solid. Just wish he could get forward more and provide us with the width we sorely lack from that area.

Vaughan’s finish was a touch of class. Murray hit the nail on the head in his post match when he said that so many other players would look to blast that with their left foot but he’s got the game intelligence to know where the keeper is and goes with the deft right foot no look caress finish into the far corner.

In terms of next season, I don’t want to get too bogged down into who stays and who goes because we’ve a big next month or so to come, but I don’t think a refresh of the forward line would be much of a bad thing. The issue is that the majority of them are signed up for the next season at least. Wouldn’t have any objections to Chalmers to our squad, I’m just not sure that we have the squad space to accommodate him plus all of the current forward options we posses.

As frustrating as it was, what a belter of a game!

Genuinely cant understand why Airdrie aren't right up there with us and DU at the top, I said before the game that they have easily been the best side we have played this season and they served up the goods again.

I actually thought the Rovers line up was ok last night, however Byrne and Matthews failed to do the job they were there to do for the 2 goals in the first half. They were still really good, well taken goals but the holding midfielders job was to prevent the space that was given to Frizzell, we failed to do it and all of a sudden we are chasing the game and playing totally into Airdrie hands.

Second half I thought we were excellent up until Airdries 3rd. We moved the ball quickly and you had the feeling that we were going to do it. Connolly's effort of the post is an inch over and I think we go on to win that. 2 mins later and Airdrie break brilliantly and what a finish to kill the game.

Whilst I appreciate the increased fan base we seem to have this season, there are some folk that really shouldn't bother. Some of the chat I heard around me from so called "supporters" was absolutely moronic. This is the best Raith team probably in about 30 years, if you can't enjoy what we are watching I would suggest you find another hobby.

League title is probably beyond us now, but promotion is still very much on the cards. We need to secure 2nd to give us every chance possible which I'm sure we will do.

Last night was disappointing, but there is no reason for Rovers fans to be anything other than optimistic about the remainder of the season and the immediate future for the club.

What is this measured, thought-out and eloquent response?! Bring on the angry face emojis.

Im sure it was during Barry Smith’s first season. He played there and scored in a ridiculous amount of consecutive games before being injured.

Aye that’s what I'm getting at. His days of playing there are finished. Murray asks too much of his wingers going back the way.

Mate I'm shocked about McGill aswell. When he played earlier in the season, he didn't really put a foot wrong. He's also got a bit of height about him.

Winger wise we've been crying out for an Ethan Ross type player. There's absolutely no pace in the team, which has also hindered. We chop and change most games so get no continuity either. Our big problem is Murray has no clue on our best 11. Unfortunately our midfield are incapable of controlling a game when we play 4 but when we play 5 we are much better that generally means Lewy has to be sacrificed as he can't hold up a ball. Fans get pissed because he's our best player, but unfortunately dropping him may be for the greater good against some teams, he's also a great pair of fresh legs to come on.

The team needs overhauled, there's no denying it. How we are in the position we are in, is astounding considering we haven't played well since we beat Utd at Tannadice. I think it's just a really shitey bunch of teams this year and we have been the better of a bad bunch.

I love coming in here it’s a rare laugh.

I think the fact that Ruaridh did the interviews probably confirms that Niall and Davie were unavailable due to holidays and there was nothing more to it than that.

Would've expected an update on Euan Murray's condition but I get why they would want to keep that to themselves.  It does look like he's been training though (he was in the photo with the fan posted earlier) so hopefully that means he's ok to play.

    Grum, surely?

  6. The Millen thing is an odd one as to why people are so interested in it. There’s been a disciplinary issue, he’s been asked to not return to the club.  Someone showed me a screenshot of someone on Facebook claiming that because we use “you belong” as a tagline, that means that we deserve to know what happened 😂

How would you feel if there was a disciplinary issue at your work and you got some sort of sanction placed against you, then everyone found out about it? You’d be rightly annoyed. The club still has a duty of care towards Ross Millen, regardless of what’s happened and I’m quite happy they’re keeping quiet, as any professional operation would. The clamour for the club to release a blow by blow account on what’s happened is both bizarre and never going to fucking happen.
