It is petty from United but we also need to look at the events that led us here, the new board have been a force for good no doubt about it but if you go putting out a tweet basically taking the piss out of a club the day after you have beaten them with a last minute goal then you can't then be that surprised if you don't receive much in the way of goodwill or co operation when needed later. It is the fans who are the collateral damage in this one.

This is almost certainly the reason. Grown men who run actual football clubs being so upset by a tweet is quite funny.

whatever it is ALL clubs are losing out over this, the easiest thing to do at a game is turn up and hand over £20 (or whatever) and see a game, yes I get some games will be oversubscribed hence the need for all ticket but how often at this level does it happen ? not a lot.

Your average punter having a couple of beers in a pub near the ground used to think f**k it why not turn up and empty their pocket, now he has to queue to get a ticket, queue again to get in, no wonder a few say fucking  f**k this I'm going back to the boozer

I think this is just misty eyed reminiscing. The Rovers aren’t losing out in any way by not offering a cash gate.

Dundee, Aberdeen and the Old Firm have all filled that end, with far more propensity for bother.

Whatever reason it's for, it's not safety, and it's not to increase their own ticket share - which makes it very weird.

Spot on. The idea that Rangers, Celtic and Aberdeen can fill that end fully every time, but the police are insisting that Raith Rovers must vacate the front six rows this time, but not last time, is fanciful at best.

Lewis deserves a great attendance and I hope it happens.

The paltry turnout that McGurn got made me extremely sceptical about people's desire to attend testimonials though.

Especially seeing how universally loved he was by our support.

Fully get that, but this is literally our most loved player in the last 30 years. If he can’t get 2000 Rovers fans to turn out we’d be as well never giving anyone a testimonial ever again.

Pars dodged a bullet with Ashcroft by the looks of it.

It’s just been incredibly unlucky. It’s not as if Ashcroft was coming to us off a period of inactivity, he’d played and played well for Dundee from about mid January up until when he joined us, so he’s been fit. As it stands, it’s not a massive loss as Watson has come back into the side and looked very, very good alongside Murray. It’s just whether or not those two can stay fit for the rest of the season that will be the main issue.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see us offer Ashcroft a deal beyond the end of the season if he is free to leave Dundee, despite having another year on his contract there. Murray said we’d tried to sign him this season so I’m sure we’d still be keen for next year.

Aye mate imrie’s rattled beyond belief, after going from bottom of the table to 1 point behind 3rd, in the quarter finals of the Scottish cup & hammer throwing their way to 16 games unbeaten

Can safely say Imrie is currently the most unrattled manager in the league

Spent his pre-match interview talking about us, then spent 90 minutes shouting at Ian Murray, was being held back from him at full time and then had an argument with John Potter after the game. Sounds like he’s pretty rattled to me.
