I hate to drag up the past, and I know it’s been done to death, but Jack Ross was today announced as Sunderland manager. A man who we interviewed and subsequently turned down in favour of Mr Gary Locke.

I hope it’s not that. That’s literally the worst combination of games I can think of.

Enjoyed Sim’s interview, actually like him and the way he talks. There’s very much a sense of, “we have no money but I won’t let anything happen to us”.

Matthews is definitely under contract for another season.

Would take Furtado if he could get himself properly fit. Always looked like he was carrying an extra few pounds and tired towards the end of games. He’s far more effective up than he is wide.

Just on the grapevine, certainly been offered a contract there. I’d like him to stay as well. In an alternate universe we have Bates and McKay at centre half, Matthews and Callachan in centre mid and Vaughan up front with Jonny Court.

Not a huge fan of Spence and think Buchanan is a better all round player. Spence has undoubted goal scoring ability but it’s just a case of a player and a club not quite matching. I’ll wish Barr all the best, the spat with the fans not great and he’s not been as effective as I’d have liked but was excellent at carrying the ball forward from deep positions. Will most likely sign for another L1 team and run ya ragged whilst offering us the big shh.

Now the dust has settled around recent news, I’ve calmed a bit and feel a bit more level headed about it. I’d still rather Smith had moved on, but now it’s set in stone that he’s staying we probably need to all get behind him and get everyone going in the same direction. My new season’s resolution is to be more positive - after a long summer of not thinking about Raith Rovers. Maybe I’ll buy a season ticket after all.

Duggan would be a good signing, looked dangerous against us and scored a good number of goals in a pish side.

Fair enough, I thought it was full. Having said that, at that point it’s then up to the stewards to find people seats and direct punters into them.

Not a lot been said about the complete fucking shambles that happened on Saturday off the park. How do you let too many people into a stand that has electronic turn styles? I appreciate it’s not down to the people working behind the gates but there’s a counter in the police box! Was no one monitoring that? We then decided, about 10 minutes into the game, to move them into a section of the railway stand which, unless I’m mistaken, doesn’t have a safety certificate and had a set of fucking training goals IN THE STAND. Finally, after another 10 minutes or so, stewards were instructed to move those in the railway stand round to a cordoned off section of the North, which had 90 Alloa fans sitting in a 3600 capacity stand. Really awful lack of planning and execution. Complete amateur hour.

I’m happy to put everything that’s happened thus far this season behind me and just put absolutely everything into Saturday. f**k the fact we’ve been not very good, win on Saturday and all is forgotten and forgiven. Long week at work coming up!
