Fucking great news. Huge boost.

Really disappointing that we are very likely going to be without our two first choice strikers in Gullan and Vaughan and captain in Scott Brown for this. The latter will be a huge miss, we will really miss his tenacity and bite in the middle of the park. With Matthews also out we don’t have any other midfielder capable of doing that role. It’s one that’s likely going to be quite important too, as Motherwell, despite being underperforming, will certainly have more of the ball. It’s a shame because with a full team I think we could really give Motherwell a scare, but I fancy we’ll be a couple of players short.

Sounds like a striker in need of a loan spell.

There was some chat about St Johnstone having about 7 strikers and whether or not we could get one of them on loan. Theo Bair was a name that was mentioned, as was Chris Kane. Bair’s just come on v Celtic. Kane not in the squad…

The corner that Arbroath got that they eventually scored from - wow. The How have the officials decided that’s a corner? The highlights don’t show it but they didn’t actually score from that corner, MacDonald tips the first one over the bar and they score from the second one, but that is a wild decision.

He brought on McBride for Millen but it was as part of a change of shape to 3 at the back whilst we were 1-0 down. Evidently it paid off as we equalised within 2 minutes and then scored the winner after another 7 minutes - with McBride actually getting the winner. Soon after we went 2-1 up we changed the shape again with another sub and went back to a back 4. Murray has calmed right down from the early part of the season where we regularly saw centre halves being pulled off for strikers whilst chasing the game which without fail ended up in us completely losing our shape and any momentum in favour of launching the ball up the park. Think we’ve seen an evolution of Murray’s tactics since then and whilst he is still definitely not scared to make subs when needing a goal, it’s in a far more measured manner and obviously today, it really worked.

I said at half time that I didn’t think being 1-0 down at half time was that bad a result, despite how turgid the game was. All round good game management, subs and second half performance. Equal on points with 4th, unbeaten in 10, players coming back to form. Get in.

Murray has had a lot of flack over the course of the season for his use of subs and just generally getting a lot of unfair (imo) criticism. Today he made the correct subs at the correct time which changed the game in our favour and deserves credit for doing so.

Storming up the fair play league tho, lads. Not all bad.

Any idea why it was chopped off? Looked fine and very similar to the Arbroath goal.

We just do not have the same ability to pin Arbroath in like they did to us in the first half. We couldn’t get out but you wouldn’t even be able to tell there’s a wind in the second half so far. Need to do so much better.
