But only just!
(and apparently Kane didn't score)
Maybe not, maybe yes, doesn’t matter, what does is he got in the position where he put the defender under such pressure that it resulted in the goal.
The goal is all that is important.
He deserves the credit of the goal.0 -
It’s Kanes’s goal as it was his pressing that got the goal whoever put it in. Actually don’t care, we scored and won.

Our defenders went for a pint and the boy had a free run to goal. Pipe down.
My point being only that if that had been an Aberdeen goal the commentary team on Red tv would have been roaring and raving about it whereas they just said “oh saints have scored”0 -
Don’t see much praise on this thread for the quality of our goal last night. It really is quite perfect and simple.
Totally worth it winning the game for us.-1 -
Audio working fine for me.
Only thing is although plenty chat and good commentary really it is obviously very biased towards Aberdeen.

Who are turning their noses up? Your post suggests that people are unsatisfied with this transfer because they don’t think he’ll be any good. Nobody has said that.
If I was given the choice of a winger who is similar or slightly better than the numerous options we already have (I believe that the wings are our strongest area currently) or a below-average striker like Curtis Main who provides something a bit different from our existing options, I would choose the latter as I feel that is what our squad requires more at this stage in time.
Totally agree

When Kennedy left the club, I thought ‘At least we’ve got an appropriate amount of wingers now.’ We were looking top-heavy and we’re hardly crying out for a quality winger. Jones may be very good, I’m not doubting that. But do we need a ‘different option’ currently when we’ve already got the likes of O’Halloran, Wright, Swanson and Wotherspoon who can all play on the wings when required?
I was kind of hoping for a striker who provides a bit more presence in the final third, considering the amount of good crosses we’ve put into the box without any tangible reward. Not necessarily an outstanding player. Just someone who could pose a different kind of threat off the bench.
I was hoping for a big striker who was good in the air to do something with the crosses from our loads of wingers.

I think we’re in the process of trying to end Anderson’s loan deal as he’s injured for the foreseeable. However Anderson fairly got the defence into shape by roaring like a mad man and you could see the rest of the team get their act together. If MacLean is of a similar mould then greatHe certainly will moan and complain for the whole 90 minutes. Great player, hope he does well for you. Will always be a saints legend though. He is a vey intelligent player.

Did Drey Wright go off injured at half time? Just when thought found a way to get shot of Ralston.......
Think he would have been subbed anyway as he was having a shocker.

Our best result in well over a year.
Thoroughly deserved victory, we were the better team throughout.
Ali McCann was majestic today. The number of times you think he’s closed down and he finds the pass is incredible.
Two games running our midfield has outplayed one of the best midfields in the country outwith the OF.
Absolute credit to Tommy Wright, tactically got it bang on today. And the players as well, great determination and desire the whole match.
Brilliant.
Thought we were terrific for most of the match. Most enjoyable match for a long time.1 -
2 better quality strikers. MOH is a striker, or so I'm informed.
PauloPerth yes I'll take it too, and willing to write the performance off as match rustiness.
virginton defences can always find something they could have done better. Yes, Booth had space and time for his shot but 9 times out of ten that's in the garden of rememberance at the crematorioum, and yes Muzz could have been picked up better but it's a very long range header. Neither are as bad as a lot of the absolute howlers that pitch has seen this season from the home team.
You had a flavour of it when Duffy came on.
Thought Wallace Duffy did well in his short time on the pitch.0 -
The Twitter rumour mill seems convinced Scott Wright is headed our way either now, or in the Summer, but I'm not entirely convinced how that would work.
As long as he scored more than the last import from Aberdeen.

I don't think I expressed myself well. I was saying that Berra will be poor value due to his high wages. I agree we need a CB but we don't need to be spending at that level IMO.
If we can afford what Berra's on, we need that up front. Agree with your point on wingers but it's a striker that we're needing.
Totally agree0 -
McGlynn saying in FFP that Steven Anderson could be out for the season now.
So sorry to hear that.
Ando will always be a saints legend.0 -
If Kennedy does not want to stay. Let him go in this window and free up a wage to bring in another player.
We have enough cover with O'Halloran Wright Swanson and Wotherspoon.

Not a derby though. Oh no.
Am I right???
These games have much more interest for us than Rangers/Celtic and much nicer supporters.
We miss both of them badly.
Look at the crowd we take to Dens or Tannadice.
We should just give them the whole stadium.0 -
If he leaves he leaves, offer him a contract, give him seven days to accept, if not sign a big striker as we are well covered for winger type players. We need big strikers.

I usually overreact, but think I've pretty much nailed it this time tbh. Graham was on the pitch about 20 minutes, elbowed two folk, punched another, and probably wasnt even the worst player in terms of foul.
Genuinely lost count of the amount of players who were either kicked, or dragged down, off the ball. Vigurs was run away from constantly central and just clipped folks heels as they ran away from him yet somehow survived with just one booking.
We also had the dreadful Scottish football trait of a side going away and time wasting after 20 minutes as they're struggling.
Have to agree with all that.

We need to spend, we must sign a striker or we are relegated because we just don't score or look like scoring. Surely there cant be anybody who thinks we have a strike force. If so I fail to see who it is.

It's been a while since we had a sort of Iwelumo/Johnstone/Fallon style carthorse in the team
A good one is what we really need.0 -
Teams must look forward to playing us, we are so small at the back and weak. Big players punish us every game.
I agree that this seems the worst defence in watching saints for over 50 years but it really can't be can it.

Aberdeen fans on AFC chat calling Murray Davidson as dirty and his tackle being deliberate etc. Murray made a hash of the tackle and he looked shocked himself at what he had done. It was just mistimed. He has made that sort of tackle dozens if not hundreds of times and never before been sent off. I'm sure he apologised afterwards. Thankfully Bryson seems ok. The ref was very lenient on Aberdeen it must be said for some of their tackles.

Our current side is the worst of the last decade, maybe not individually but certainly collectively. Roll on Sunday.

Not wasting a sunday afternoon going to this. Will support saints as I always do but on sunday's now won't be attending and will cheer them on listening on the radio. Don't think I will be going to any more Rangers or Celtic games either.
A bit p*****d off.
