  1. Out of the bottom six, there's not many players I'd take ahead of our first team squad, though we do need numbers in to mix it up a bit. But others might well feel the same about our players.
Basically, managers who can get the sum greater than the parts are the difference between survival and getting relegated.  Livi are a good example, and Accies have been doing it for years.
With Hughes getting a great early reaction from the County players, I'd say there's no single standout relegation candidate anymore.  You could argue Accies, but they've been called that every season for the past 6 years and survived.
There is nothing between the bottom 5 right now, it could be any one of us.  In terms of form, we are the team who have gone the longest without a league win.                      9 matches.

Because we don’t have a goal scorer.

That sending offs being coming. Much like our saints performances this season, feel I've seen that same cameo from Hendry over and over. Come on, give pointless fouls away and go into fits of petulance.

Kane is the "best of the rest" currently.

We can't have this red card every week nonsense.

Get rid of Hendry, MOH and Melemed now.

We need new strikers to help May and Kane.

  3. I know what you mean. Think the issue is that fans are seeing flashes of potential and some good football but it's been such a frustrating season. Probably inevitable though with a new manager. Thought for the first 20 minutes or so, just after we scored and first ET period we played pretty well, but again we're seeing that we're not making the opposition have to play well to beat us.
The recent injuries have been a blessing and a curse. Players that weren't getting  start have been getting time in the legs and in some cases playing at least as well or better than some of the guys that CD had as settled starters. I know that's usually classed as a 'good problem to have' but I'm not so sure right now, I'd rather we were clearer on our best 11/12/13. never mind our best shape (5-3-2?). Melamed remains an enigma, I want to see the guy play for a bit. Got to wonder what CD sees in training.
I was annoyed last night when someone mentioned in the match thread that there were 900 folk watching a stream on FB. Not to have a go when folk have lost their jobs etc, get that it's tough right now and facing the same situation myself, but that's chunk of lost revenue for the club and the League Cup is hardly a cash bonanza** so gates must be pretty important.  Saying that, how many of those would have been paying for a ticket?
The official stream was practically unwatchable so have to wonder how bad a hooky one would be.
** ETA just read that this year's Betfred has a bigger winner's payout than the Scottish Cup (£300k). Surprising.

Sorry to hear you had problems with the stream as last night for me it was perfect, one of the best so far. Commentary was also excellent and not too biased. Would have helped to have a Saints co-commenter.
  4. Alan Stubbs going on and on about Craig Bryson’s tackle and it being a red card was surely ridiculous. Brown gets away with thuggery all the time.
Thought we played well and were unfortunate to lose the win as that cross was not meant as a try at goal. Not blaming Zander at all.
Pleased for Chris Kane who put in a shift and took the chance brilliantly.
The stream I was watching kept going funny but when it worked it was good.

Those two teams from Glasgow should be the least appealing for any young players with ambition. Especially Ali who isn't the finished article yet. England or Abroad and to a team who will play him every week.

Ali McCann was by far the best player on the park today, some of his play was just superb. We should have won but Motherwell defended well and a point each probably fair.

    We just need goals.

  6. The key words here are "last season". I don't know what's happened with Hendry but it's like watching a different player from last season. If you look at his goal v Sevco last season, would you be confident he'd score that chance this season? I wouldn't.

It’s a pity his goal against Hibs was wrongly disallowed as that might have made all the difference to his confidence. Strikers need goals.
  7. Like you, I bought my ticket with no realistic expectation of getting into Tannadice this season, and given the shite year this has been (Even with some of the performances this season), I have still enjoyed being able to watch United, home and away every week. As such, I will buy my ticket for myself and my daughter as usual next year regardless of whether I see a game live or not this season.
That being said, I have a solid job which has been unaffected by Covid,  and I appreciate that is not the same for everyone, but I would like to hope that the majority of fans who are committed enough to buy a season ticket every year, will not take advantage of this clause, if they can afford to buy their ticket next year.

Totally agree, well said. Clubs need next year to sell season tickets as a donation really as we don’t know when we will get back in. Fans need to be like you and support your team.
  8. St Johnstone have already had the greatest moments any fan will ever experience following them and still nobody goes to watch them.
Very well run but a general sense of what is the point around them now.
They will never ever surpass 2014.

But 2014 will always be remembered. Teams like us only win cups every once in a lifetime but it was wonderful at the time.
  9. "As good as they think they are?"
Quite amusing when consistently it's the fans of your team with the condescending "jobbers" etc type comment with the suggestion that you're team is somehow the better one despite paying double the wages you failed to beat 10 men in the first outing. In the second outing your team were so poor it looked like you were playing with 10 men and camped in your own have for the vast majority of the game. If that was the other way round you'd be crying from the roof tops "anti football" etc.
Get off the high horse and worry about how shite your own team is.

    Very true.
United were also helped by some cracking decisions by the referee in that their foul count should have been much higher.
