Kerr was in that position for the first against hibs.......
The defence is fucking garbage, no getting away from it.
Agree. Kerr totally to blame for the first goal. No excuses because he lacked commitment going to head the ball. That is what he is there to do, simple. He then slips which he is prone to do. Never feel very happy watching him defend this season, very much a bomb scare. We so need a new Anderson type player.

There had to be a big centre back in the championship say, who had played lots of games who would have fitted in. A big shouter and bully as we are too soft.

FWIW if TW is ever being sacked, or walking away, this would be the week for it.
Off the back off an absolute embarrassment at home, toiling in the league, and an International break meaning its two weeks until the next game. Almost exactly after the first round of fixtures too. He'd walk with some form of dignity left aswell, before he completely ruins what hes done.
Would give a new man at least a week with the squad before the next game, over a month before the next window, and more than 2/3rds of the season to salvage this.
I don't want him gone, fwiw, but I'm finding it increasingly hard to convince myself he'll sort this. We've been dreadful for 11 months now and he made us worse in the Summer window.
Can't but agree.

f**k salary caps and the like, just rearrange the league to a top 14/16 to start at the end of this season please.
Please.
Great idea but will never happen.

We would probably be like Ayr United tbh. Shackled to a crumbling ground, scraping by trying to build stands on shitey terracing (like tannadice), while all the time trying to compete on the pitch. What a shite existence that would have been, it's taken a while but I'm warming to Mcdiarmid. Now if we had that on muirtons location...
I agree, our out of town location has had an effect on crowds.

Let's get behind the team this afternoon and they will produce a good performance and a win.

A decent centre half would have cut out that cross. Kerr needs dropped.

We so miss a good big strong centre back and centre forward to win balls in the air. I still say we are too small.

Has Tommy been too loyal to Swanson, MOH and May? Expected them to just return to past glories when evidence might suggest otherwise?
short answer to that is YES

Spend the whole summer focussed on signing a striker who has barely scored in 4 years, can't win headers and can't play as a lone striker.
Blast a big proportion of our available budget on signing him to the detriment of the rest of the squad, stick him up front on his own.
Pad out the defensive options with a 20 year old whose never played a first team game, and a lad from another country that you've seen play once. Loan out one of your few experienced defenders, one of the biggest earners, to a team two divisions below. I don't give a f**k what anyone says, Steven Anderson would have made a big difference in that team today. We definitely need a big nasty centre back right now who'll kick folk and dominate them. There must be a free agent available somewhere.
One man is to blame for this debacle. And no way should he be sacked. He should be made to stay and sort this fucking mess out!!
Our defence all season have been awful. I agree that we so miss two big centre backs not two young lads. Even Joe is badly missed. Our recruitment has been very poor, to many wee players, what we should have been signing were a couple of big centres. When we line up before a game the other team always look like our big brothers.
We are going down.

Absolutely no chance St J will go down.
What optimism, hope you are right but at the moment it's not looking good.0 -
akuram never said that Chris Kane would be the match winner, his point was that our strikers continue to be isolated with how we have set up this season, and that having somebody closer to May would be extremely beneficial.
Chris Kane is nowhere near as bad as you make out, unless you are one of those narrow minded people who think that a strikers job is ‘tO SCoRe GoALs.’ A strikers job is to help the team win games, and Chris Kane has a knack of making us look a better side when he plays
He does a power of intelligent running and stretches defences and I don’t think it’s ridiculous at all to suggest him and May would forge a decent partnership.
That’s clearly not just screaming 4 4 fucking 2 for the sake of it.
Thank you. My point being we need two up front as it clearly doesn't work with one. We don't have a Morelos0 -
Dreadful today. Kane should have been on from the start, one up front is not working. Motherwell looked much stronger than us and bigger.
We just can't score and always lose the first goal. I cannot see anything beyond relegation this season.0 -
I miss that c**t so much.
So missed0 -
Went up to get a ticket today.
Are you on the database ?
Yes, you’ve taken my details umpteen times .
I’m afraid your not on it and can’t get one.
My phones rammed with photos following Saints abroad , Cup final etc sister works at Mc Diarmid but no ticket [emoji23]
Absolutely ridiculous, write to Steve Brown and ask if we want home support at games like this.0 -
Steven Anderson any good?
Legend.
Hope he does really well for you

I would love it if we could sign a young big striker on loan like Cosgrove at Aberdeen. Tall and strong.
But don't think it will happen.0 -

Add Devlin and Bates to those above Jason Kerr in the Scotland pecking order
Jason Kerr last year maybe

Anderson would be better than Jason Kerr at the moment who is making too many mistakes and is developing into a bomb scare. Thought Wallace Duffy did well until the slip which led to the goal and we should give him more games to give him the experience.

Would still think that someone will sign Stevie May this window, hopefully us. The fact he is now not even making the bench at Aberdeen looks like he is not now in their plans so want rid. Good time to renegotiate the deal.

Everybody’s a bit pissed off at the moment and rightly so, heres hoping they pull a couple of decent signings out of the hat before the window shuts.
Give Jody a phone at Chelsea for starters. That sounds like a good idea. Jody surely could find a gem to loan us.

What a shame.

If the assault on Chris Kane had been on a Rangers player they would have talked about it for ever. They really are so biased against St Johnstone. Should have been a red all day long. Disgraceful.

Agree it was worth a yellow and a clever foul IF that's what transpired, but he didn't smash the ball out Kane's hands - intentionally or not he hit him on the back of the head. That's a straight red.
Edit / it wasn't much of a strike so I guess you could say it was 'negligible' force, so perhaps a yellow. I'll concede that one.
Anyway we all agree the ref was pish.
Looked a red all day long, sitting directly above, bet sportscene won't show that because it's against saints.0

What my post was meant to point out was we need a new strong centre back to take control of the defence. Ando has been a major part in our defence and his presence is sorely missed. He has been great for saints.
