If this is a real question, then one answer would be “being an unrepentant rapist”

Or simply just signing (or being) a rapist? (I include both Raith and Clyde's boards). Goodwillie is probably only unrepentant on the grounds that if he said sorry he'd be admitting guilt and would face retrial and jail time (deservedly too!) but turkeys don't generally vote for Christmas. If his lawyer thought there was a least possibility he could apologise and continue his career I'd suspect he'd have done that long ago.

Sorry to be so blunt, but you are a horrible, horrible human being

I think you've taken that too far, from his posts there is no evidence what so ever he is human.

Frank did so much for this club of ours. Started with dross and made a diamond, a club to be proud of. It was an education going round the back of the dressing room to hear his half time talk. He did not mince his words. Had time for the fans as well. He will be missed. R.I.P. indeed.

He will be missed, on the subject of fans I can recall a few behind the dugout he certainly didn't miss.

    RIP Raith Rovers legend.

  3. After a few season of watching that carthorse Murray in a Rovers shirt running backwards away from attackers, it was great to watch the shitebag is still at it doing it against us, what. strike by Matthews.

St Mirren Park or Spaghettihad for the right sized arena but as has been mentioned Easter Rd would be ideal for a day out.

  4. Raith; "How'd ye's like DG back? Only £1200 per month and you can sign him permanently for £65K"

Clyde; " We'll take I'm on loan until April if you pay his wages"

Raith; " Lads lads, be reasonable, ok you pay his £1200 a week and you can keep him, gratis"

Clyde; "You pay his wages and goal bonuses we'll take him until April, Tick tock when's that loan deadline???"

Raith;"Sigh! Ok Just take him, we'll pay all his wages"

Behold the the stellar financial geniuses of the KPMG & Deloitte Accountancy firms.

Of course this paves the way for DG turning out for us next season when Danny Lennon is installed at seasons end in McGlynn's stead. Having played him so long Lennon should have no qualms about playing him.

You think. Some people don't. Some people it's all about the big iam. All about me. Same with big val. Why has nothing been said about Griffiths signing for falkirk?

Joke of a country with a joke load of citizens

... If we talking a bout joke citizens, don't worry you may have competition but you're still well in front.

Yeh are you protesting about Griffiths are you? Nah don't think so. It's your attitude that's shite. Your clubs more than a chairman or people on the board.

Maybe he would have.... If Griffiths had signed for a club he supported, naw?

Disgraceful attitude. A football club is an institution. Too many people since the mainstreaming of politics become drawn in on this shite. Pricipaled when it suits them. Same people that say send soldiers to Ukraine are the same folk who call Blair a war criminal

    When it suits them?

The guy has been a supporter for 40 years, there are some strong principles involved that make you willing to let go something that enduring in life.

I’d agree with this. It’s a huge setback but quite clearly we aren’t staring down the barrel of the Lowland League.

We’re a club that peaks and troughs. At this stage the smart money would be on us having peaked, and we’ll now dip towards the bottom end of the Championship and maybe League One again.

    Joy.

    Was that really a peak?

My feeling is we were still building up and the DG situation has taken all the impetus away.

5 years of good work, feels like we have destroyed a great deal of the groundwork  that took so many so long to set up, and that's what annoys me most, as it was all so foreseeably unnecessary .

On the shirt sponsor I've heard that Val put in £15K for that, no idea about the stand, I've also heard that the Dean Park are waiting to take over as shirt sponsors.

Now I'm definately not ITK but I rekon this isn't a great deal away from the truth.

I too heard there was a willing sponsor (maybe was Colin Smart) waiting to step in, but surely the idea is to have a bit of competition or better still extra sponsors, not piss off those that have bailed out in the past and alienate them going forward.

    Time will tell.

You are assuming Raith Rovers paid the transfer fee, I heard that an outside source paid this. You are also assuming that we will pay off his entire contract, I think you may find that a deal will be agreed between both parties.

Hopefully that will be the case, but whether somebody else paid it and even if we reach agreement to pay half to DG it's still a whack of dosh that could have been spent improving the team and its still a large amount of money we stand to lose in knock-on losses, some already gone and some potentially.

Given that the directors are probably better described as unpaid volunteers that try to carry out Sims plans, I don't think its helpful to wish them gone.

So they can do what they like completely without sanction?

In any case I'm on record saying I don't want them all out, but there needs to be change and that means if not all, then at least some have to go.

  11. £60k transfer fee to Clyde and 134 weeks wages at £1k/week, that for starters and not including lost revenue from lower gates, less hospitality, huge drop in lotto and supporters fund.  Losses won't be a kick on the arse of £250k this season alone.

Add all those drops in revenue to the lost shirt and stand revenues and we could see as much as £100k wiped out of next seasons budget. If only 100 fans decide not to renew season tickets there's £30,000 out straight away.

  12. The board went ahead with this knowing full well in advance she would walk away.

She's got 90,000 followers on Twitter, more than 4 times what the Rovers have, how did they think it was going to go? It takes a special kind of stupid to think its a good idea to piss of a benefactor who has bailed you out time and again and was probably willing to continue to do so.

I'm not sure if she is but if Val is one of the former directors with a soft loan owing she could really turn the screw.

I keep saying it but if someone lost £300,000 for Sim, Sinton or McDonald's company they'd be gone the same day!

    Yip, very well.

Depending on season ticket renewal, resubscription to player fund and our ability to attract new sponsors, League 1 may not be as low as we go. The current board seem determined to hing on, I hope they have alternative sources of revenue lined up but I would sincerely doubt it.

With all these 2 and 3 year deals kicking about, I fear we may not be able to lord it over our West Fife neighbours about never having been in admin for much longer.

I'm sure they did have, but I have an inkling their other sources probably back-tracked quicker than the Italian infantry in WW II, the've made the Rovers toxic in so many ways.

Raith have shat a lot of money on this crazy decision over Goodwillie. Do they have the resources to sign a decent enough squad for next season?

    No.

Any chance of that sailed west on the Ego trip of 4 men who thought they knew better.

Already I reckon Rovers have spunked about £200,000+ in the short term, in the long term the loss of sponsors, donations and various income see's about £100k / year falling off the balance sheet. Whilst some of that can be replaced it didn't need to be lost it could have been added to.

This wankery by the board has likely set the club back at least 5 years.

There's snow in Kirkcaldy and supposedly more to come, Partick may yet face a scenario like we did 12 years ago when we played 3 games in 4 days January then 7 games in 19 days in March. It was a season of back to back fixtures Airdrie, Ross C and the Pars.....and a Scottish Cup semi final thrown in as a bonus.

I can't see it affecting the game unless it's bad down pratt Street. It's not really lying up by the retail park

Depends on what's still to come, forecast wasn't great. Hopefully it misses us.
