  1. Cheers Gaz. It does get ridiculously tight at some points, esp at the Commie Pool exit of the park.
  2. Get yourself up to Run4It on Lothian Road, give them your budget and get them properly fitted, they're pretty good with beginners. I knackered my knees when I tried to take up running in a badly-fitted pair of trainers last year.
  3. 57:17 for the Edinburgh 10k this morning. 2 minutes improvement on the Glasgow one a month ago, which I'm very pleased with given it's a pretty hilly route. Now sitting with my first beer in months, suspect I'll be asleep soon!
  4. Hmm. Forecast is to be pissing down now. Great.
  5. Anyone doing the Edinburgh 10k on Sunday? I'm hoping it cools down a bit.
  6. Our first season in the SPL was dreadful. How long did it take us to win a home game?? The season after, with Stokes in the side and us horsing the Fifers at every turn, was fantastic though.
  7. I think it's a great idea - even if it makes no money, it won't lose money, and it all aids the "involvement" objective
  8. Whilst I agree with that, we are relying on three youth players and a guy who is booking-prone. With Weatherston and Hutton, we could rotate the midfield a bit more. We can't play Sibbald and Fulton every week!
  9. Having done yesterday's 10k and then Edinburgh next month, I'm looking to improve my time by next spring. Ideally, with a good gap, I'd like to go from 59 mins to c50 minutes. Anyone know any good long-ish term training programmes?
  10. Good effort! The weather warmed up a lot towards the end of 10k, which was much cooler. 59 mins 13 secs for the 10k - very pleased to get in under the hour (and just quicker than the winner of the half marathon!). Given I couldn't run more than a minute at a time when I started "training" in February, I'm pretty happy - my main aim was just to run the full length. Same again in Edinburgh and then aim for 50 minutes next year.
  11. Results so far this season suggest anyone could win the league, and anyone could be relegated.
  12. Yes, although doesn't feel like a Falkirk strip somehow
  13. Difficult to judge things on the basis of a friendly but a decent game. Hibs much poorer than expected in the first half, with Falkirk deserving the 1-0 lead. Our defence looked comfortable and decent movement up front. Second half, and the changes showed how thin our squad is, with both 1st choice centre-backs being off. Draw probably about right in the proverbial game of two halves. Rhys Bennett easily our stand-out player, although I thought Miller, Duffie, Dods and Kingsley all had good games (good to see more of Kingsley than a two-footed lunge!). Not sure about the new forward, he had some good clearing headers at set-pieces but that's about it. Oh, and the keeper looked good.
  14. Rumours of Falkirk's demise greatly exaggerated? Not a bad game in truly dismal conditions. Bennett looks the mutts.
  15. we did launch a 10-year season ticket, and sold a few. not many people are stupid enough to pony up that amount of money.
  16. I dont disagree with much else here, but really? I mean, really?? How's that European qualification and 3 visits to Hampden in a season looking?
  17. *sigh*. This "only posting positive comments about FFC" lark is really going to reduce my post count.
  18. Right, f**k it, I've decided I'm going to be relentlessly positive about and during next season. I will endeavour from here on to say nothing negative about FFC, the staff, the players or the stadium. Ermmmmmmmm...
  19. Ha, I'd forgotten about that. Remind me of the barking mad lineup we played in Vaduz? Patch on the Ochils, it's not a patch on the Ochils...
  20. Question is, will we have 11 players to put out?
