  1. So is this the day Morton hold a victory parade through the streets of Greenock (having carefully removed the hubcaps from the bus first), allowing the "good people" of the Clyde Riviera to bask in the warm glow of victory, and with it promotion to the SPL? No? But.....what happened?
  2. Is that certain, in the same way as they were certain to win the treble this season? Certain that the referee in the SCLC final had cost Lennon that treble? Or certain in the sense of Celtic certainly exhibiting all the signs of hubris?
  3. It's a piece of legislation called "Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment)". It governs the terms you have to offer existing employees if you take over their employer without buying the shares - for example, when one bank takes over some branches of another. The employees are guaranteed in law to have no worse terms and conditions than before. So in the case of a newco, if the trade and assets of RFC transferred to the Newco, the players would have to do so on the same terms. Be paid the same...
  4. It's not. A newco would have nothing to do with the shares of the oldco. Certain assets and liabilities would transfer if they want to buy them, and the players would be transferred across under TUPE. IIRC, the employees transferred across can't legally have any worse terms and conditions than they currently have.
  5. That's a great interview - probably the most intelligent and unbiased "opinion" piece on this whole farce.
  6. Holy crap the Balfron 10k is hilly. Undoubtedly the most difficult I've done. 51:55 is a PB though (I'm unfit and old, remember!) so quite pleased. 25 mins out, 27 back (uphill)
  7. Balfron 10k tomorrow, weather forecast not too great.
  8. went out on Saturday and again today, and was blowing out my arse after 30 minutes both times. not good, only 13 days til my next 10k (and it's a hilly un too)
  9. Great, now we just need to find a builder to do it for nothing.
  10. can't see where you live on my phone, but get yourself to Run4It and get yourself fitted. I mildly overpronate and had knee problems from poor trainers before, last 3 pairs have been Adidas Supernova Sequence and no problems.
  11. Yet I've seen him score twice, and both were against you (the first of which confirmed our place in Europe for the first time ever). Cheers!
  12. He's better than Kingsley, but given hes probably paid in the region of 5-10 times as much, he should be! We can do better for less money. He can play whenever we face Dunfermline.
  13. oh I agree, and theyve still got to finish some of the entry points which will make things more efficient. they've made a fantastic job of transforming the utter wasteland that was Stratford
  14. Was good, made me feel a bit more well-disposed towards the Olympics which I'd previously been pretty dismissive of. Security getting into the Olympic park is going to be a nightmare though. It took us an hour to get from Stratford International station to inside the barriers, and there would only have been c12,000 people. Imagine what it will be like with probably nearer 200,000 across all the venues, changing over from afternoons to evenings as well.
  15. Did the Olympic Park run yesterday. The stadium and the other buildings (esp the velodrome) are amazing, although the bulk of the run was on service roads so it felt like running on a nearly-finished building site in the main. The track in the stadium is HUGE, and the stadium itself is ok from the seats but incredible from the track! Time was 42:48, which is was reasonably pleased with for 5 miles, given the 1st mile was very congested and took me 9:49. (bear in mind my fastest 10k to date is 57mins, although that was last October). Next up, Balfron 10k.
  16. Aye. Him scoring at the weekend was one of the few bright spots.
