  1. Good luck to the lad, don't know much about him but let's hope he can improve the team and more importantly gets time to try.
  2. Considering we are 6th in League 2 and facing our worst league position in decades, you better believe we need better players !
  3. This goes for injuries/illness as well it's not unique to Peterhead.
  4. Mugged by the referee & linesman. He blew full time immediately when we kicked off after the equaliser but I'm convinced he would've played another few minutes had Peterhead not scored. Linesman also flagged Austin offside when clean through, after he ran past the defender. Sore one to take but full credit to the team who put in a great shift.
  5. East Fife welcome Peterhead to Bayview tomorrow. The pitch will be fine with any frost long gone with the wind having more of an impact on the game than recent weeks. East Fife are unbeaten in 2024, a 3 game run but will hoping to put on a more entertaining display for the fans than last Saturdays 1-1 draw with Clyde. The line-up unkown, with so many injured & ill defenders its been surprise not to see the manager add to the squad this week. I was impressed with Peterhead when they defeated us on the first day of the season and will prove difficult opponents despite their recent poor run. With Clyde, Elgin and Bonnyrigg not in league action plus Stranraer at champions elect Stenny, 3 points could propel East Fife into 5th place whereas a defeat would have us nervously looking over our shoulders.
  6. Yes they tried hard but the product to watch (like last home game) was brutal, to make things worse we are paying the highest prices to watch it. Manager needs to act and get bodies in.
  7. Happy clapper on the Facebook page saying its a good great result today as Clyde have bought 7 players and we have injuries. Well maybe we can get players in also !! Anyone who sat through that today and thought it was acceptable or great needs to give their head a wobble.
  8. The only good thing about that game is that we didn't lose it. Although we got the early goal Clyde controlled the half and it was obvious our 4-3-3 wasn't working , we were over run in midfield. Easton injured and replaced at half time certainly didn't help and McDonald changed to a 4-4-2 which restricted Clyde the ball in midfield but we still created next to nothing. Clyde smacked The post with a free kick and looked dangerous but lacked a real forward focus. The manager will no doubt point to our injury/ illness crisis but it just isn't good enough. Thought Charlie Murray was excellent on his debut and Murdoch,Austin and Millar worked hard. We won't get away with a performance like that next week v Peterhead !
  9. Yes, all the clubs below us are strengthening. I'm a bit surprised we haven't added to the squad. Let's face it, even when we have everyone back from injury the current starting 11 just isn't good enough.
  10. Tomorrow will be an interesting match as the new and improved Clyde visit Bayview. Clyde will be confident after a good start to 2024 but East Fife will go into the match equally confident after a good win at the Rock. East Fife should line up the same as last week, any recoveries from illness/injury going onto the bench. As ever the first goal will be important and set the tone of the match. Prediction 2-1 The Fife. -Fleming- -Murdoch-McManus-Easton-Newton- -Millar-Trouten-Walls- -Shepherd- -Austin- -Healy-
  11. A very good if unexpected result, full credit to the players. Let's hope this builds confidence on the pitch and we take this into the Clyde game.
  12. Yeah but Spartans are splashing the cash around, it won't last.
  13. Yaasss 1st win of the season v top 4 opposition.
  14. Difficult to name an East Fife team for tomorrow. Last week we were down to the bare bones due to injury and illness. McDonald did say in the after match interview that things should be improved for this week but Healy, Docherty, Page hopefully these three make it. It's difficult to be optimistic, our recent record at the Rock is awful. If Dumbarton get an early goal i will fear the worst ,which will pile more pressure on Mcdonald especially if our team is stronger. Ideally we will go : -Fleming- -Docherty-Page-Easton-Murdoch- -McManus-Trouten-Walls- -Shepherd- -Austin- - Healy-
  15. Anything less than 4-0 for the Sons will be looked on as a failure.
  16. Some of our players had flu, what was Forfars' excuse ?
  17. Forfar Ath' entertain East Fife in what would be described as a chilly Station Park. No mention of a pitch inspection at this time. The Fifers' will be looking to bounce back after a horrific last outing v Moob town. Reports' suggest Murdoch will be avaiable which is welcome news as we have 3 other defenders missing out. Healy was ill/injured last week. I'd expect the depleted Fifers' to line up somewhere along : -Fleming- -Murdoch- McManus-Easton-Newton- - Millar-Trouten-Walls- -Shepherd- -Austin- -Schiavone-
  18. Did i not mention that ? Whoever is in charge we need a left back, haven't had a decent one since Naysmith.
  19. Ok for East Fife we need a left back and a central midfielder in the mould of Alex Ferguson. More importantly we need a manager who has a game-plan, can motivate and organise the team. Current manager is not upto the task.
  20. Totally agree, far too many signings from last season when they weren't up to the job.
