  1. The appointment of Dick Campbell and his team should give this game a lot more interest than was anticipated. A few East Fife fans have spotted our new manager at our home games recently, and that hes had a few training sessions with the players i doubt he will make wholesale changes between the names Fleming & Austin ! The heart says if we can get the first goal it could be a good afternoon for us, the head says Stenhousemuir victorius.
  2. Excellent news, hopefully he can steady the ship over the next few weeks then we can look forward to next season.
  3. It was the right thing to do and I'm glad he saw that and resigned. We will always remember his success as a player for the Fife. It hasn't been working out on the pitch for some time and we now need to move on and get this decision right. Lots of people mention Campbell but I'm told he doesn't come cheap and we aren't exactly awash with cash.
  4. So the pledge page, can someone clear this up for me. Why is money being taken when no deal has been struck? Will this be held until the deal happens and what if it doesn't ?
  5. Yes i agree and we have Stenhousemuir at home next week !
  6. We maybe could've afforded to pay him off if we hadn't been bounced out of the Cup by 6th tier Dunbar Utd
  7. Greig McDonald goes back a long way with East Fife and the fans. A true fan favourite as a player and virtually a one club player the belief is their that he cares deeply about the club and not a regular jobber or mercenary actor. Just a wee bit background for you Moonster.
  8. Wish I shared your confidence. If Peterhead hadn't equalised Clyde would have trailed us by eight points with a game in hand. Lots of football to be played before place 42 is settled.
  9. If we can't afford to sack McDonald he should do the right thing and walk. Despite the money problems he is majorly underachieving, no plan, no fight, no clue ! The product on the park is brutal and we have Stenhousemuir to look forward to next week. thank f*** Rory McAllister put that penalty in.
  10. If Elgin go 2-0 games over, we ain't coming back from that.
  11. East Fife's five game unbeaten run came to a halt when we were well beaten by Spartans on Tuesday. I'm not very confident about today, we've a reasonable away record in the league but Elgin will be on a high. The manager may look to freshen things up a bit. I would go with : -Fleming- -Docherty-Page-Easton-Murdoch- -Walls-McManus-Trouten-Hamilton- -Schiavone-Austin-
  12. Well beaten tonight. Despite going on level at half-time we were chasing shadows for much of the half after a bright start. Blair Henderson took his goals well, you can't give a goal scorer like that the space and service. Too many East Fife players just aren't good enough and as for the tactics...what tactics ! they look lost half the time.
  13. East Fife weclome Spartans to Bayview for their first ever visit in the League. I attended the fixture earlier in the season at Ainslie Park. Spartans are a strong well organised team with plenty of pace going forward. We did well that day to salvage a draw after going 2-0 down. Spartans are eight points ahead of us in table sitting 4th and we must win to have any chance of catching them. Spartans have two games in hand but we still have to face each other another 2 times after Tuesday. Hopefully we can continue our unbeaten five game run start to 2024. Was encouraging to see a few guys return from injury on Saturday. I would like to see Docherty return at the expense of Newton. We will line up something like: -Fleming- -Docherty-McManus-Easton-Murdoch- -Trouten-Millar-Walls- -Shepherd- -Austin- -Healy-
  14. The worth of his shares is around 300k apparently.
  15. Good luck to the lad, don't know much about him but let's hope he can improve the team and more importantly gets time to try.
  16. Considering we are 6th in League 2 and facing our worst league position in decades, you better believe we need better players !
  17. This goes for injuries/illness as well it's not unique to Peterhead.
  18. Mugged by the referee & linesman. He blew full time immediately when we kicked off after the equaliser but I'm convinced he would've played another few minutes had Peterhead not scored. Linesman also flagged Austin offside when clean through, after he ran past the defender. Sore one to take but full credit to the team who put in a great shift.
  19. East Fife welcome Peterhead to Bayview tomorrow. The pitch will be fine with any frost long gone with the wind having more of an impact on the game than recent weeks. East Fife are unbeaten in 2024, a 3 game run but will hoping to put on a more entertaining display for the fans than last Saturdays 1-1 draw with Clyde. The line-up unkown, with so many injured & ill defenders its been surprise not to see the manager add to the squad this week. I was impressed with Peterhead when they defeated us on the first day of the season and will prove difficult opponents despite their recent poor run. With Clyde, Elgin and Bonnyrigg not in league action plus Stranraer at champions elect Stenny, 3 points could propel East Fife into 5th place whereas a defeat would have us nervously looking over our shoulders.
