The Ultimate Super Ayr Thread
wee_bairn replied to D'Jaffo's topic in Scottish Championship General Chatter
I'd hope Lee Millers friendship with Kerr will help you out there and you avoid him like the plague. Awful footballer. Is Alston a genuine rumour for Ayr? I'd love him back at Falkirk. -
Walking Down The Halbeath Road

Looking on in envy with these signings. Goals coming from every angle. Alston is never a centre mid in a 4-4-2. More suited in a three where he can sit as a 10. Mcmanus and O’Hara for me have very similar playing styles so it’ll be interesting to see how they pair. Looks like Crawfords just signing the best players available without a game plan on how to use them. You love to see it though. -
Agreed, was also a big fan but can also appreciate why he never made it in the Premiership. Goes missing in games for large spells but is always capable of a moment of genius or a long range beauty. Will be a good signing for championship. PS. Let us know if you find his most suited position, we tried everywhere across midfield.

Walking Down The Halbeath Road

Will be interesting to see how O’Hara does, he never really impressed at Falkirk or at any of his loan spells during his time at the club. He’s had one good season at Alloa so maybe worth a gamble if he’s low cost. McManus is a player who is hard not to love. His work ethic and determination is infectious within the team. He’s proved he can score a wide range of goals for us last season and I strangely hope he does well for you and gets the championship goal scoring monkey off his back. -
Apart from the exact % going to strathcarron I don’t see a problem with the ST offer. The club do a lot of good work for the charity and this is another great gesture, imo. No matter how small the donation is, it’ll be greatly appreciated by Strathcarron. Just needs a little bit more clarity. With regards to the prices, I know of fans who have been unfortunate due to this pandemic and are glad there is a cheaper option.

Clyde FC; Season 2022-23

Jesus Christ. -
Late July I’m sure our chairman said.

Raith Rovers are maybe a good shout for Dowds to challenge himself at the level above but remaining part time? Sure I read previously he has a good job outside football.

The Partick Thistle thread

Haha I know right haha. -
When do you see your first snap of the season? Within the month?
-
Big time. This humiliating opposition patter needs launched into the sea. Very Rangersy.
-
I’d keep them all (some as squad players) apart from Telfer.
-
Promising to see M&M showing a ruthless side. Miller especially seems a bit too nice to be a manager. I kinda expected a few likes of his insta posts, few tags in memes thrown in with coffee dates and he’d be like putty in your hands.
-
They’ve already recruited two top signings in Docherty from Ayr and Lyons from Montrose. I felt we lost games in the middle of the park last season, very few games we controlled against the top half sides. We desperately need someone with a bit of energy who can go box to box.

Summer (?) 2020 Transfer Thread
wee_bairn replied to Jan Vojáček's topic in Scottish League 1 General Chatter
There was an article in the paper a month a go where I think he confirmed he's chucking it completely due to injuries. He's already got a position with the police, which with shifts I'm not sure if even part-time football is possible now. He was completely done though, it was painful to watch at times. -
Buchanan was fine. Not great and was prone to a few mistakes but was definitely suitable for the higher end of league 1. Probably much of the same performances he produced for you in league 1. Durnan actually looked the better player out the two towards the end of the season. Telfer was totally anonymous. He’s certainly got talent but is slow and has the heart of a mouse. Wee shitebag. From the ex pars we signed last season, I would say Connelly was the best of the bunch.
-
Buchanan and Doyle would both be excellent for you. McShane is a bit of a ghost.
-
Gregor Buchanan would be my bet! Or take your pick from Ian McShane / Michael Doyle.
-
Is it possible those leaving have chose to leave instead of sign the short term deal again? Possibly have work outside football or something else lined up?
-
If Airdrie were in our position I’m sure your views would be a tad different.
-
Totally agree. All clubs will take a hit on gate money this season and are only missing out on probably one game each at home to Falkirk/thistle. Airdrie especially surely look at this as a glorious chance to win the league.
-
So in the same token, why is it fair that Raith Rovers are promoted when we are only 1 point behind, +20 GD better and still had to play them at home? Airdrie, IMO, wouldn't have won the league. Yes you could have went up through the playoffs but at 5 points behind the league leaders I couldn't see you realistically clawing that back without us taking the lead. Contradicting myself here, but I feel reconstruction should be binned until next season where a permanent change can be agreed and implemented for the better of Scottish football.
-
Jesus Christ. If he has affected you that badly I maybe think it’s you who should have stepped away from an online football forum.
