If he applies this policy across the board and all our signings are players from league 1, it'll be a tad worrying, but I'm sure Murray won't be looking at our squad and thinking "if I add half a dozen good league 1 players to these we'll be laughing".

Murray previously managed (albeit a poor) Dumbarton in the Championship so he'll know what's required. He's also played at a high level and been coached by big names. Moreover, Easton and by all accounts Brown are the cream from the 1st Division. I don't think you should be worried.

I take your point, it depends on everyone's definition of "tight" for a squad I suppose.

I guess in terms of recruitment for the traditional Central midfielders roles (the 6 and 8 ) we'd end up with 5 guys (Spencer, Stanton, Matthews, Arnott and Ross) for between two and three starting positions which doesn't feel hugely extravagant.

Fair enough, but inevitably they can't all be regulars in the team unless there's serious rotation in mind (unlikely). I think it suggests that Spencer might be off.

The one thing I like is that whoever we have it's going to be an impressive midfield line-up.

Aye, if we keep Spencer and sign Brown then the latter must be seen as a massive upgrade on Riley Snow.

We  keep Spencer and sign another two, Easton and Brown. Riley Snow being ditched still leaves us with Matthews Spencer Stanton Arnott Easton Brown and Ross.

How many midfielders would you have in a tight squad?

Have you said bad things about Falkirk that Marshmallow is following you and Red dotting every post? 😂

He's a well known irrelevance. He follows several people around -  anyone who "dishonours" Falkirk, currently me and some Airdrie supporters. He even red dots certain Falkirk fans 😁

Incidentally, he himself has a negative rating well over five thousand. I suspect he's somewhere at the lower end of the spectrum.

Everyone understands that and I think a lot of people will give Murray time to implement his ideas, tactics and formation it’s not going click right away and a lot of these players aren’t his and could they adapt to his style we don’t know yet

Dunfermline and Falkirk fans don't, their euphoria at new appointments lasts about a fortnight. I'm not saying we will, just to give things time.

Say it quietly but… Gozie Ugwu? Seems to have got himself fit(ter) since he left us and did well in a broadly rubbish Morton side. Holds the ball up. I wasn’t a huge fan last time around but he has done well since leaving.

I thought he was more effective than Varian who replaced him

  7. Regarding Dave McKay he's a decent defender who was a regular for us in D1 but fell out of favour after an injury. He came back into the team in March due to suspensions and injuries to Benedictus and Berra. It took him a game or two to get into his stride. He played well in the 3-3 draw at Arbroath and  came on for Dick in the Final. Not the marauding type of defender but good at defending set pieces. He'll do fine.
