When Price came in we'd had 8 clean sheets out of 11 league games. Granted most of those were against teams outwith the current top five, but under Price we've only kept 5 clean sheets in our last 11 games against non-top-five opposition. Of those 11 games, we've played five against teams from the bottom four (Forres x2, Vale, Clach & Strathspey) and we conceded in every one of those bar Clach.

Or the weather. Much of the chat for ages has been along the lines of 'hopefully Buckie get tired legs because of their huge fixture backlog'. We've had every advantage handed to us this season, yet still blown it.

Tbh, I thinking even a 1-0 win will realistically do it. It will take something special from Brechin to manage a four goal GD swing. As I said the other night, we're completely reliant on Keith getting a draw in Buckie.
-
Somewhat disconcerting that previous fixtures this season have been Brechin 2-1 Brora, and Keith 0-3 Buckie. On paper you'd imagine Buckie and Brechin would fare better and worse respectively this weekend due to home/away switch around.
-
Even defenders are banging in hat-tricks against Strathspey now. ETA: we 'only' beat them 5-0 & 6-1 this season.
-
Absolutely no chance Buckie will only score one more goal in this game. Just two will put them top of the league on goals scored. ETA: and there it is.

Israel And The Palestinians (now with added Iran)
Hedgecutter replied to xbl's topic in The General Nonsense Forum
I'm sure this will be settled in a calm and collaborative manner: A former official at the Israeli spy agency says targeting nuclear facilities in Iran is among the options on the table as Israel decides how to respond to Saturday's attack. Meanwhile, Iran's president has warned the "tiniest move" against the country would bring a "fierce" response. -
Brechin fans elsewhere praising a win, but we're absolutely relying on Keith taking points off Buckie imho. Can't see us hitting Brora by three goals or more, but I'll be delighted to be proven wrong.

Petty Things That Get On Your Nerves...

Almost every redesigned club logo being circular. Now, I know fine well that Brechin City's logo is indeed circular too, but I prefer the old classics. Perhaps it's the 'copycat-ness' of it all that's my actually PTTGOYN. -
Even though I'm not to fussed with Brewdog, I stopped in by their place in Ellon recently to try the scran one evening. Whilst I was expecting the same old hoppy beers and hipster staff, I was not expecting it to be like Messy Joe's (from the IT Crowd, minus the clown). Kids screaming all over the shop, parents just chatting away to each other. Nightmare fuel.

Can see another couple here, but +5 or less was as good as we could hope for tonight imo. ETA: there's one of them

Petty Things That Get On Your Nerves...
Hedgecutter replied to well fan for life's topic in The General Nonsense Forum
I'd frequently get the last train up to Aberdeen on a Sunday and the absolute state of the thing by the time it passed Edinburgh (can't mind if it was Virgin or LNER, but think of the waste built up from the various tinks between there and London) was beyond grim. ETA: part of me thinks that the guard f***ed off at Edinburgh. Don't think I ever got my return ticket stamped on that service, and the station barriers were left open by the time you got into Aberdeen (hence why it was worthwhile getting the Litterzug, so the next trip needed a single rather than a return, more than paying for the extra pints). -

Sky's coverage of the Masters for the admittedly pedantic inconsistency involving the circle in the Γ , where it is detached from the A in the bottom-right scoreboard but attached to it when the banner for Γ berg pops up. -

Forgot about this and genuinely spat my drink out* when I saw the FT on Livescore. They truly are the gift that keeps on giving. *should have said I was sitting in one of horrible garden centre restaurants at the time.

Brechin need a good demolition job at Keith for any chance imo. Didn't see today's one happening at HT tbh. Amazed we somehow extended our GD lead over the Broch.

Highland League Hot Potato 23/24 π₯π₯

It's all over! The tattie is orange as Rothes claim the 2023/24 SHFL hot potato courtesy of a 6-1 scudding at the hands of Formartine. -
FWIW when it comes to this, animology 'Stink Bomb' spray has been a game changer for us. Bert runs to the furthest corner of the garden when he sees it brought out, so you know it's good.

"he bows out at the club who handed him his maiden appearance all the way back in 1995. Coolio was top of the charts with Gangstaβs Paradise, OJ Simpson had just been found not guilty of murder" Some early career inspiration there.
