Picture jittery and pixellated. Its like watching a stream in 2005, lost video feed to blank screen a couple of times.

It casts to TV too.

I'm going to end up convincing myself that its worth the extra money for multiple camera angles. Then being angry at myself for being fleeced. Just hope that our fixture is on the beeb and saves me the turmoil.Me right now: I'm not paying that!
Me on Saturday morning:

Hearts £18.50. (EIGHTEEN POUNDS FIFTY)
Still trying to work out what they mean by they’ve valued it at £15 to season ticket holders?

The one that's best. However, 'best' is a subjective term not necessarily answered by which one is Elite. The one with the best recent record for developing a pathway to first team football wouldnt necessarily be the one with all the bells and whistles.
Hence use of “likely”. There are other factors to consider of course, practicality of distance, and as you mention the record of blooding youngsters to first team etc.
Then there are facilities, access to same physios as first team, schooling arrangements etc.
I realise it’s not as binary (elite v other) as my original proposition suggested.0 -
The examples of people who have gone on to ''bigger things'' amount to nothing more than being a Premiership reserve player for a season. Folk like Spence, White, MIllen and Rooney and Byrne. I can honestly say I still wouldn't want any of them back.
I don't think it's fans. Too easy to blame. There are clubs that produce great talents but have even worse fans than ours. I actually doubt our scouting network has much of a far reach due to finance and also FIfe doesn't produce the same quality of footballers as Lanarkshire and Ayrshire. The best young talents are generally found in the West. I know there are some obvious exceptions to that , but in term of producing a high volume of quality young players, it's teams like Motherwell and Killie over the years who have done this successfully outside of the big Cities.
“Fife doesn’t produce the same quality of footballers as Lanarkshire and Ayrshire”?!
I can assure you that some of the best footballing talent at youth level comes from Fife. It’s just there is no tier 1 (elite) academy in Fife so they end up elsewhere. I would have thought having Fife Elite (third tier - Performance) would have allowed collective investment on a scale which would have got them to tier 1 but sadly not the case. Hoping that the our German investors are able fix this as developing talent seemed to be what they were bringing to the par-ty.
If three academy’s come in for your kid, one from each tier, which academy are you likely to have him sign for? One closest, or one that’s best?

Can’t believe a thread in my honour has lasted this long. The offence caused by rhyming ship with championship was my favourite bit.

Keeping up with the amount of posts on here is nuts. Maybe there should be sub topics... one for discussing >82 year olds are expendable and acceptable collateral damage (as was discussed a number of posts back), a “get the pubs open” thread, a “get the schools shut” one, an anecdotal evidence thread to discuss things like “my mate’s, girlfriend’s mum’s auntie’s friend is the only person I know that has had it”, a “why are both Lanarkshire’s not in a permanent tier 5 all of their own” and, of course, one for the anti-masking, anti-vaxing, hoax, great resetter, zoomers to hang out on their own.
Anyone here who would desire the job of a decision maker during this shit-show? That thread could help identify a combination of the bravest members of this forum.....and also those who are deeply in grey cell deficit. Might be difficult to tell them apart.3 -
Came home with a few new Xmas decorations yesterday.
Just to be added to the, now, 14 boxes worth that we already have in the loft.
And she's bidding on gumtree for a new Xmas tree. We already have 4 of those too.
Folk buy decorations on Gumtree. Good to know.0 -
How big a gap do you recommend between upping the life insurance and them falling down the stairs?
So long as you can train an owl you should be good to go.0 -
Watching The Brink on Sky Documentaries, this Steve Bannon character is a dangerous man.

Let's pick this apart to see where he's coming from. He reckons he's got 5 years left if he's lucky. Every six months of lockdown is a tenth of his time left. What he's saying is let it rip through everybody (while he briefly hides in his house, although that's the bit he'll not admit to). He thinks herd immunity i.e. most people will have had it and the weak'll be deid, will allow him to emerge from his hidey hole and live his last few years with normality (no guarantee given empirical evidence some catch it again). Or if he's unlucky he lives til he's 100 with the last 20 years being fed by strangers in a care home. I say strangers, but I mean his kids.
The point all these folk who are anti lock down measures miss, is simple mathematics. You let this thing go and as well as the NHS being overwhelmed and unnecessary deaths due to running out of medical staff (who'll be off sick too) and beds and ventilators and drugs...other vital services will grind to a halt and others will die of other treatable ailments too. It does solve some of the pensions timebomb so there is that, mother nature's own Logans Run. The pro economy folks will be happy with that.
There is always a balance to be struck here, where you try to have as much of the economic activity, in fact daily life as possible, whilst limiting opportunity to spread.
A good analogy to use for managing the virus (unfortunately is another scientific one) is a nuclear reactor where energy is the economy, neutrons are the virus and the carbon rods are the measures the government is deploying to control it. Lack using the rods enough, you get a meltdown.
He's a selfish old fool trying to play the "it's in the best interests of the young card" when patently it's not.

How it started...
How it's going...this'll all blow over fairly quickly, Bird flu and Ebola were another two 'apocalypse' diseases that don't seem to get any media coverage now.

Hanging clothes on the top corner of doors. Thereby preventing one of the doors two primary functions. Comes to the fore at this time of year.
I’m sure my solution of removing and dumping nearby on the floor is the objective, so that argument can be commenced at will, if desired.1 -
Pride?
I have no idea what that typo was!
f**k it. 10-0 home win.0 -
Do pixellot have different hardware available, and that is top end - or do they only have the one type of camera? I’ve seen footage from Veo and it seems better (Futsal Escocia uses it)...

Why is pixelott a thing? Is it designed for football? I assume not.
Pixellot seems to have promised more than it delivers. It is designed for football. It looks like a product still in development though, rather than something suitable for live broadcast. I hope Alloa will be getting a discount after yesterday’s abysmal footage and that they sort out the tracking. The proposition to manually use a joystick takes away the USP of a fully automated system. I’ll not be asking for a refund purely because football clubs need the money and I’ll consider it a donation.
If it was any other product that under-delivered, I would though.
On the technical side, is the colour of the ball an issue? The balls at the side of the pitch, would small bins be a useful suggestion to obscure them from camera view?

No.Yeah. Pixellot was rough today. A step back from the Edinburgh City game as has already been said. Spare a thought for me having to watch a 480p stream of that to commentate because we couldn't fix the microphone delay today. Could not see who was where!
I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the joystick for it!
Big thanks to KierenAAFC for the commentary. He was excellent
Thought's just crossed my mind. If you bought the PPV ticket can you still watch the VOD? It's not something I've tested.0 -
