  1. Nevertheless people on here have been relentlessly critical of them. All of those clubs below them (in the EoSL and WoSL) could have applied to the LL themselves at the time it was being set up. They didn't.
  2. Agreed. It's never too soon for the "Aitken out" banners.
  3. As it reads that would give us a more than three players to one advantage all over the pitch. We'd surely win a few games that way. (As long as the ref doesn't notice.)
  4. If you click on the first line under Recent Posts you do get to https://democratonline.net/2021/07/13/78369/ which seems to be the article concerned.
  5. Would they do something like that just for devilment do you think?
  6. My memory is it was a second strip (used at home, not away; in those days the home team in Scotland changed strip - and then only if there was a colour clash) for that one season in the black and gold stripes era until it became the main strip around 1969.
  7. It makes me feel very old indeed to see something posted here by a granddaughter of Hugh Harra. He is an abiding memory from my youth watching the Sons at Boghead. Opposing players always had a tough time playing against him.
  8. Neither of those will happen just because youth teams are in the league system. We should be thinking about what else do those other countries mentoned do that helps produce good players.
  9. You seriously think fans of part time clubs want Scotland to fail? They don't. They also don't think youth teams in the league system will benefit anybody but the Old Firm. (Certainly not Scotland.)
  10. You only have to look at the way Rangers and Cetic have behaved over the years to realise that they don't give a toss about lower league teams - the attempt to remove five teams from the Scottish League in the early 60s, the formation of the Premier Division in the 1970s (supposedly to help them compete in Europe - it had the absolutely opposite effect) the throwing of all except top division teams under the bus with the formation of the SPL (which Dundee's boss wants to repeat!) Now this proposal to shoehorn their B teams into the system by bribery. None of those exhibited any kind of duty of care towards clubs in the same league structure as them.
  11. Well, I'd been thinking next year ended in 2 but keeping that thought resolutely to myself. As I did ten years ago until after the play-off final. Thoughts like those should not tempt fate by being uttered. And....... What's a party? (Btw, the year ending in 1 has worked well for Spurs recently hasn't it?)
  12. I can assure you I'm not an electrical component.
  13. There's nothing pedantic about wanting people - especially children - to be able to recognise when a word is being misused.
  14. No. Just someone who prefers clarity in communication. And mistaking chord for cord is not a spelling error. Just because something shapes sound doesn't mean the word to describe it is the same as the one for a harmonious set of musical notes.
  15. That'll be vocal cords. As in thin strips of cartilage stretched across the back of the throat.
  16. Those great Hibbees ,The Proclaimers, lived in Auchtermuchty.
